Madeline B.
Madeline has been tutoring mathematics since she was in high school. She graduated from University of Idaho in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and has been working in academic intervention at the secondary level since then. She believes the “Eureka!” moments students have when they finally understand something are the most beautiful and magical thing in the world. She believes it is important to treat students as the multi-faceted individuals they are, spiral in old material when teaching the new, and try new approaches if a student does not understand something. Madeline attends game nights every Sunday, book club every Wednesday, and paints when she can find the time.

Madison C.
Madison is finishing her B.A. in Forensic Psychology at Arizona State University, with a minor in English. She is looking to start her master’s program in 2026. Madison has multiple years of experience tutoring and working in private schools. In those years she managed to refine her approach on how to work with a vast array of students.
Growing up Madison had insatiable love for literature, writing, and reading. However, her passions didn’t stop there. Madison decided to lean into forensics and criminology which required a different mindset than creative writing. In her time in university, she became experienced in scholarly and technical writing. Therefore, she is able to help students build case studies and research papers to help the student become more familiar and comfortable with both MLA and APA style writing. Madison also has extensive grasp of psychology including topics about memory and social psychology.
Madison’s teaching style involves turning challenges into opportunities. She is passionate about using the student’s own interests to solve problems. Madison also allows the student to explain the topic back to her in order to find blind shots in their knowledge surrounding the topic. In addition, she does more than work on the student’s subject material. The student will also work on time management, developing healthy study habits, and building self-motivation. These are valuable tools they can use as move through the grade levels and beyond.
Madison was born in Nampa, Idaho. In her free time, she enjoys taking care of her two dogs, gaming, baking, and yoga. She is looking forward to working with your child and watching them blossom as their knowledge increases.

With experience working as both an EMT and a tutor to many different kinds of students, she finds immense joy in helping others whether through the practice of medicine or by fostering a love for learning and personal growth. For Michelle, tutoring is not only about mastering material but about building confidence and a curiosity for the world around us; connecting with students is one of her favorite parts of tutoring, and she is always grateful for the opportunity to help a student find themselves and their interests. Michelle has experience working with age groups ranging from pre-k to university, and has enjoyed the unique aspects of working with every single age group. Rachel P.
Rachel graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa cum Laude from Reed College before going on to earn her Masters and become a Doctoral Candidate in Classics at UC Berkeley–she can also train a wild horse, work concrete, and process game. With more than ten years’ teaching experience at the high school level, and even more at the collegiate level, you’re in good hands with Rachel, across subjects from Anatomy to Zoology. Rachel is a voracious learner and credits this authentic curiosity to her success in connecting with young people during her career. She is a neurospicy Boise native who loves animals and playing with her amazing kiddo. Rachel believes that being human is too hard to do alone, and that powerful things are possible through connection. For her, the purpose of tutoring is to meet students where they are and support them in developing transferable strategies and tools that foster independence, confidence, and achievement as they progress along their educational journeys.
Elizabeth K.
Elizabeth is a Certified Teacher in multiple states. She grew up in Alabama on 30 acres and lived in Washington before moving to Boise in 2023. Douglas P.
Douglas is a certified teacher, university faculty member, former museum curator, and all-around renaissance man. Few have a professional background like him: Archaeology, Astronomy, History, Paleontology, and Religious Studies are just a few of the subjects Douglas has worked and taught in. After completing a degree in History he went to work for museums in Los Angeles, including the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and Griffith Observatory. During that time he acquired a Master of Arts in Teaching, taught in several school districts, and all while continuing to work in museums. Since moving to Idaho, he has worked in community based mental health, the state prison system, and currently he is at Boise State teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology Labs, (he prefers labs over lectures – they’re more fun!). Douglas’s style is very unique, interactive, and is about inspiring and not just rote knowledge acquisition. From lecturing about Dwarf Planet Pluto at the most visited public observatory in the world, to teaching inmates about fossilization and quantum mechanics, Douglas is available to help you, or your student, find new appreciation for their natural and cultural worlds, create a tomorrow that is better than today, and learn a little along the way!
Some examples of how he works:
Does your student need to work on basic reading and writing? Let’s use dinosaurs to develop those skills!
Does your student need to work on writing proper essays, developing ideas, and forming arguments? Let’s dig up something archaeological and either support or refute it!
Maybe your student needs someone to talk with while learning about the wonders of the past, the mysteries of the cosmos, and other big ideas. Let’s dive in and see where we end up!
From kindergarten to college, Douglas will endeavor to help your student achieve academically – and have fun while doing it!
