TYLER M.

Tyler graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in English literature and a certificate in creative writing. She has a passion for reading, extensive experience running and participating in writing workshops and Volunteers at Lord Beaverbrook High School coaching their youth slam poetry team. Tyler struggled with learning disabilities from a young age, and thus did not learn the necessary skills to achieve academic excellence until she reached university. She wishes to impart those skills onto students earlier then she was able to grasp them, so they may flourish in their academic careers.

SARA E. M.

Sara is an engaging educator who believes that language opens doors—not only to academic success, but to confidence, curiosity, and connection. With over nine years of experience teaching French Immersion, Spanish Bilingual and FSL in both Canada and Europe, Sara brings a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for helping students find their voice.

Fluent in French, Spanish, English, and Arabic, Sara holds three master’s degrees, including Educational Psychology and Intercultural Communication. She currently teaches within the French Immersion Program and is known for creating inclusive, student-centered environments where learners feel safe to take risks and grow.

Sara understands that every child learns differently, and she takes the time to truly connect—building trust, adapting to individual needs, and celebrating progress along the way. Her calm, encouraging presence helps even the most hesitant students gain confidence and joy in language learning.

Outside the classroom, Sara has coordinated youth programs for newcomers and volunteered at children’s camps, reinforcing her commitment to community and whole-child development. Parents appreciate her professionalism, dedication, and the lasting impact she has on their child’s growth—not just as a learner, but as a person.

 

DUSTIN W.

Dustin is working to complete his Bachelor of Education at Mount Royal University. He specializes in Math and Science but is confident tutoring all subjects at the elementary level as well as his specialties in junior high. He has experience working with students in an elementary school setting and has volunteered as a peer tutor at Mount Royal University.
Dustin possesses strong patience, problem-solving, and communication skills. He believes that learners of all ages can succeed, especially when allowed to explore the content in a way that is best for them.
In addition to teaching, Dustin enjoys spending time with his family and playing hockey with his friends.

CARLY P.

Carly is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. She has years of valuable experience coaching and working with children of all ages. During high school, she served as a teaching assistant in sports medicine courses, which helped her develop strong educational skills.

Passionate about science and education, Carly embodies enthusiasm, balance, and an active lifestyle. With strengths in both academics and athletics, she is known for her dependability, open-mindedness, patience, and welcoming attitude.

 

MOHMMED A-D.

Mohmmed is a passionate educator currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education with a minor in humanities at Mount Royal University. He has supported students from kindergarten to grade eight in online and in person settings, helping them strengthen their skills in subjects across the curriculum.

Mohmmed has also supported adult learners – particularly immigrants who are developing their English for work, school, and everyday communication. He focuses on making lessons clear, supportive, and adaptable to each learner’s needs.

 

BRIANNA M.

Brianna is pursuing a Bachelors of Math and Education with a minor in French at the University of Lethbridge. Brianna excelled during her first practicum, receiving high marks and outstanding feedback. Including comments regarding a natural teaching ability, and a strong passion for teaching.

 

 

JOSHUA M.

Joshua recently graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor’s degree in General Mathematics, focusing on its connections to people and society. He has experience leading and participating in self-study groups, making complex concepts easier to understand. Joshua is passionate about helping students build confidence in math as well as physics. His other interests include discovering new music and learning about financial concepts.

LAGHIMA J.

Laghima is a Chemistry student at the University of Calgary with years of tutoring experience in math, chemistry, and English for students in grades 1 through 10. Her strong foundation in the sciences, combined with her patience and ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible way, allows her to support students in building confidence and achieving academic success.

She believes every student learns differently and tailors her approach to meet individual needs. Laghima believes that every student has the potential to succeed and strives to create a safe, supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in their learning journey.

 

TANAKA S.

Tanaka holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UBC Okanagan and a Fashion Design Diploma from the Visual College of Art and Design. A lifelong learner, she is passionate about language, communication, and helping students succeed.

She specializes in structured, adaptive learning for English Language Arts students and has experience tutoring elementary and high school students in reading comprehension, writing, and Math.

Back-of-House Operations Coordinator – Trained new hires from diverse cultural backgrounds, enhancing communication and adaptability.
Freelance English Tutor – Helps students improve reading comprehension, writing skills, and confidence in English.
Tanaka is self-motivated and continually explores language, learning, entrepreneurship, and leadership through teaching. She is also passionate about creative expression through fashion, meaningful networking, and mastering yoga.

 

 

SABA E.

Saba earned an Economics degree and is now pursuing two combined degrees at the University of Calgary: a BSc in Mathematics and a BCom in Finance. She brings nearly two years of tutoring experience from a children’s charity, where she worked with kids from all backgrounds and with different abilities.

From a very young age, her father kindled her interest in mathematics through playful arithmetic games. The more she learned, the more she fell in love with it. Today, she devotes herself to this passion. She finds fulfillment in sharing and exchanging knowledge.

Saba believes that a patient, supportive approach can inspire a lifelong passion for learning. Friends describe her as caring and nurturing, and her motherly nature makes children feel comfortable.
