Amanda H.

Amanda is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with a strong passion for reading, writing, and phonics. Currently a dedicated Kindergarten teacher, she thrives on the creativity, imagination, and rapid growth that young learners bring to the classroom. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, along with both a Bachelor of Education and Master of Education from Ontario Tech University. Shelby J.

Shelby is a teacher candidate currently completing her Bachelor of Education in Primary and Junior divisions at Ontario Tech University. Before pursuing her passion for teaching, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University and worked for two years in corporate finance in Toronto. This experience strengthened her analytical and problem-solving skills, which she now applies to support students in their learning.

With a strong background in mathematics, Shelby has completed a range of courses including Data Management, Calculus, Algebra, and Financial Math. She enjoys helping students build foundational skills, deepen their understanding of core concepts, and approach challenging problems with confidence. Her goal is to make learning engaging, supportive, and effective for every student.

In addition to her studies, Shelby works as a Program Coordinator for an after-school daycare, where she develops interactive activities for children ages 4 to 12. Outside of teaching, she enjoys playing soccer and volleyball in Whitby and spending time reading whenever she can.

My name is, and I am a qualified teacher. I have a degree and diploma in Early Childhood Studies, a minor in Sociology, and my Bachelor of Education. I have taught in schools all around the Durham region and tutored for over eight years. I believe teaching is not a one-size fits all. I think teachers must alter and differentiate instructions to ensure students learn most effectively.

Victoria P.

Victoria is deeply passionate about learning, teaching, and helping students reach their full potential. She holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Ottawa, as well as an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. Mackenzie is an educator with a strong passion for helping students succeed across a variety of subject areas. She holds an undergraduate degree with a specialization in teacher education and is currently completing Teachers College, where she is already gaining extensive classroom experience. Mackenzie has taught students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in subjects such as Philosophy, English, Math, Art, History, and beginner conversational French.

In addition to her classroom work, Mackenzie has been a tutor for many years, providing individualized support to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve academic success. She has a strong background in inclusive education and has worked on initiatives that ensure students of all abilities—including those on the spectrum or with ADHD/ADD—receive the tools and strategies they need to thrive.

Michelle began her teaching career with the Peel District School Board and is now a proud member of the Durham District School Board. She specializes in Primary–Junior education and is known for creating dynamic, music-infused learning experiences. Whether through singing, dancing, or weaving rhythm into lessons, she believes in the power of music to make learning engaging, memorable, and fun.

Outside the classroom, Michelle enjoys cooking, traveling, and sharing moments of laughter and dance with her children and students. Ms. Gladys is a bilingual Ontario Certified Teacher with experience teaching all subjects at the primary level (K–6) in both French and English.
