DANIELLE C.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and a diploma in Fashion Design from George Brown College. Currently in her final year of the Bachelor of Education program at Lakehead University, she specializes in elementary education. Danielle is most passionate about tutoring in Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and History. Danielle’s teaching approach is marked by her commitment to providing clarity and understanding to her students through patience and the ability to simplify complex concepts. She dedicates herself to nurturing each student’s unique learning style and abilities, enabling them to reach their fullest potential. Danielle enjoys cooking, staying active through exercise, honing her sewing skills, and cherishing quality time with her son.

KATIE W.

Katie holds an honours degree in English and Culture Studies, a Bachelors of Education degree, and is an official member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She has worked with a variety of students and needs; from working in daycare’s to high school with special education students. She has also taught as a swimming instructor. She primarily teaches Kindergarten to Grade 8 students core subjects (English, Social Studies, History, Math, Music, Physical Education, Science, and French, grades 1-3).
She is currently taking an Additional Qualification course regarding teaching Multilingual Language Learners (formerly ELL students). She has participated in Teacher Librarian PD sessions, as working as a Librarian is also of interest to her. She is working towards getting her Intermediate and Senior English teaching qualifications.

Travis P

Travis began his teaching journey by leading media and animation workshops for students in elementary schools in York Region. He has since acquired his Bachelor of Education degree from Lakehead University and has worked as an Occasional Teacher in Public Schools and as a Classroom Assistant for a summer camp program for students with ASD/Autism. He recently moved to Hamilton and is excited to begin working with students of all ages! He enjoys working one-on-one with learners and discovering new ways to make lessons more engaging, more personal more meaningful to his students.

MARTY H.

Marty has 10 years of experience teaching at the college level and currently teaches Technological Design and Mathematics at the secondary level. He completed his undergraduate degrees at Brock University (B.Ed) and McMaster University (B.Tech), his three-year Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Mohawk College, and currently holds a license as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. Marty is an upbeat, enthusiastic person with a passion for teaching and learning. His strongest beliefs as an educator can be encapsulated by two quotes: “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn” (Ignacio Estrada) and, “Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way” (George Evans).

Daniel’s passion is to help others achieve their goals and succeed. He is an Ontario certified teacher with qualifications in intermediate and senior level math and science, and in addition, is familiar with French. With over 15 years of tutoring, teaching, and coaching experience, he knows the positive impact that a mentor can have on a student’s life. While working as an at-home tutor and university co-op and career advisor, he prides himself on creating a genuine connection with his students and working together to reach their academic potential. As a high school student teacher, elementary school teacher’s aide, and swimming instructor, he kept students engaged by using creative, real-life examples and providing positive reinforcement to build confidence. Outside of tutoring, he is a sports fanatic! In his spare time, you can find him cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Toronto Raptors. He was even outside Scotiabank Arena the night the Raptors won the NBA championship

AMMARAH S.

An educator for eight years in Canada, the US, China, and the UAE, Ammarah has taught STEM subjects and standardized test preps. The international experience she has gained over the years has made her adept at developing and delivering plans that reach students with unique learning styles. Ammarah is a passionate teacher with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and truly enjoys the STEM subject area.
