Alisha D.

Alisha is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). She grew up in India and later moved to Canada to complete her postgraduate education and CPA designation. With a deep love of travel, Alisha took the opportunity to explore the world after completing her degree, an experience that broadened her perspective and shaped her professional interests.

During this time, Alisha discovered her passion for teaching and working with students. Through teaching, she has been able to foster and share her love of accounting in an engaging and accessible way. During the summer months, Alisha runs an Accounting Camp that encourages children to learn accounting concepts through interactive, hands-on experiences.

In addition, she works one-on-one with high school and undergraduate students in her spare time, supporting their academic growth and confidence in accounting. Alisha believes that building strong relationships with her students allows her to better understand their needs and enhance their learning. As a mentor, she continues to develop effective strategies for working with students and finds these experiences both enjoyable and deeply rewarding. She uses real-life scenarios and practical examples to make accounting concepts relatable and easy to understand.

 

Bella K.

Bella K. is a third-year Honours Consumer Behaviour BMOS student at Western University with a strong academic record, having maintained 80%+ averages across all courses. Alongside her studies, Bella tutors fellow Western students and volunteers with the Cross Cultural Learning Centre in London, where she supports newcomers by teaching English and helping them integrate into Canadian society. She has a particular passion for marketing and consumer behaviour courses and enjoys breaking down complex concepts into clear, practical lessons that help students build confidence and achieve strong results. Bella plans to pursue law school with the long-term goal of working in human rights, reflecting her commitment to advocacy, communication, and education. Outside of academics, she enjoys travelling, going to the gym, rock climbing, practicing Cirque du Soleil–style acrobatics, and spending time with friends and family!

 

Sonia P.

Sonia P. is an experienced educator and academic with nearly two decades of teaching experience across higher education and tutoring environments in India and Canada. She began her academic journey in New Delhi, earning a Bachelor of Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, followed by a Master of Commerce and an M.Phil. from the University of Delhi, with specialization in areas such as Financial Accounting, Statistics, Economics, and Corporate Governance.

Since relocating to Canada, Sonia continues to pursue her passion for teaching and student development. She currently teaches postgraduate courses in Financial Mathematics and Business Plan Creation at the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business, Fanshawe College. Alongside this role, she has worked closely with undergraduate students as a tutor, supporting learners at Western University in Business Math and Entrepreneurship, and currently serves as a Student Supervisor with the Thames Valley District School Board.

Sonia over 15 years of undergraduate level teaching at the University of Delhi, where she served as an Associate Professor in Commerce. In addition to classroom teaching, she has been actively involved in curriculum development, university examinations, student mentoring, and departmental leadership, including serving as Teacher-in-Charge of the Commerce Department. Her academic work is complemented by published research in peer-reviewed international journals.

Sonia believes in building strong, supportive relationships with students and tailoring instruction to individual learning needs, helping learners gain confidence, clarity, and academic success.

Maria C.

Maria is in her final year of teacher’s college and will be graduating from Brock University with a Bachelor of Education, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies. She has experience teaching a wide range of subjects across Grades 1–6. Through her teaching placements, Maria has had the opportunity to design and implement lesson plans that foster inclusive, engaging, and student-centred learning environments. As well, Maria is fluent in Spanish and is able to support students who are learning Spanish or taking Spanish language courses.
In addition to her classroom experience, Maria has several years of experience tutoring literacy both one-on-one and in small-group settings through the Brock Learning Lab. In this role, she supported students in developing reading comprehension and confidence as learners while adapting instruction to meet individual strengths and areas for growth.
Maria believes in fostering positive relationships, building confidence, and creating a supportive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and ask questions. She values patience, encouragement, and meaningful feedback as key components of effective tutoring.
In her free time, Maria enjoys reading, drawing, and going to the gym!

 

Patatchona K.

Patatchona K. is a dedicated mathematics and computer science educator who teaches students from pre‑secondary through undergraduate levels, with additional expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python. With his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, and currently completing his PhD in computer engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, Patatchona brings several years of tutoring and university‑level teaching experience. He is known for making difficult concepts feel accessible, adapting his approach to each learner’s needs, and helping students build confidence even when they begin with “I’m not good at math.” His teaching style combines clarity, patience, and real‑world examples, ensuring students not only learn but truly understand. Outside of teaching, he enjoys exploring the connections between math, technology, and everyday problem‑solving skills.

 

 

Garrett C.

Garrett is an Acadia University graduate in Kinesiology and an aspiring medical student with a strong foundation in the sciences. Garrett offers clear, student-focused tutoring in first-year chemistry as well as anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. His goal is to break down complex concepts into understandable, practical explanations while helping students build confidence and effective study strategies.

 

 

Piyush L.

Piyush L. is a tutor specializing in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with extensive experience teaching students from middle school to high school. He holds a PhD  in Chemical Engineering from Western University, where he focused on polymer composites and advanced characterization techniques.

Piyush is passionate about helping students understand complex scientific concepts through engaging, interactive, and personalized lessons. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys exploring scientific mysteries and reading about real-world disasters. Piyush believes that fostering curiosity and building strong student relationships are key to academic success.

Isa R.

Isa is a current Bachelor of Education student at Western University with a passion for both teaching and learning. She is currently in the Intermediate/Senior division with teachable subjects in English (First Language) and Social Sciences. She recently graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Psychology, and she loves the opportunities she gets to apply her knowledge of psychological theory to education. Throughout her undergraduate years, Isa enjoyed tutoring high-school and university level students, especially in English Language Arts and the social sciences. Isa has assisted students with essay writing, reading comprehension, literary analysis, and various psychological concepts.

In the last couple months of 2025, Isa got the opportunity to student teach in a grade 7/8 class, where she created and implemented unit plans in both Health and Language Arts. Isa supported students in their understandings of physical and mental health, figurative language, and creative writing. She has developed a passion for making learning more student-centered, and she admires helping students cultivate an intrinsic love for learning. Isa also currently tutors beginner level Spanish for students registered in International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Isa always encourages her students to remain curious, as she believes curiosity is the starting point of all learning. On top of this, Isa believes that meaningful learning occurs best when students have an ardent, caring instructor, and she is committed to fulfilling this role for all students she encounters. Apart from teaching, Isa loves reading, writing, playing cognitive games like chess or completing crosswords, travelling, enjoying time with loved ones, and learning. As an educator, Isa recognizes that learning is an ongoing process that continues to define her own teaching career.

Zenab S.

Zenab is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students in Business, Economics, Finance, and related disciplines across Canada, the UAE, and India. She holds a Master of Arts in Education (Critical Policy, Equity, and Leadership Studies) from Western University, an MBA in Human Resources and Information Technology, and formal teaching qualifications in Business Studies and English. Zenab has taught in secondary schools, business institutes, and professional training environments, supporting students with coursework, exam preparation, academic writing, and applied problem-solving. Her teaching style is structured, analytical, and student-centred, with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity, confidence building, and real-world application of knowledge. Drawing on her global experience and leadership background, Zenab builds strong learning relationships and helps students at both the high school and university levels achieve sustained academic success. Outside the classroom, she remains actively engaged in equity and leadership initiatives and enjoys mentoring students toward long-term academic and career goals.

 

Taiwo O.

For Taiwo, tutoring is more than a profession; it is a passion rooted in the desire to see students thrive. With a Master’s in Economics from the University of Windsor (graduating with Distinction) and a background in Mechanical Engineering, Taiwo possesses a rare ability to simplify the most challenging concepts in both the social and physical sciences.

A former Valedictorian and First Class graduate, Taiwo brings 15 years of expertise to every session. He specializes in AP and University Economics, alongside High School and AP Physics. His teaching philosophy is simple: he doesn’t just explain the material; he teaches students how to reason. By fostering critical thinking, Taiwo ensures his students don’t just pass their exams; they grow into confident, independent thinkers ready to make their own mark on the world.
