MICHELLE N.
Michelle is an Ontario-certified Intermediate/Senior (Math and Accounting) and IB MYP (Math) teacher with additional qualifications in Family Studies, Junior, Co-op and Guidance, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts and earned her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University. Over the last decade, Michelle taught at international schools in Asia, including six years as an Accounting and Math teacher to non-native English speakers in Tianjin, China, and Selangor, Malaysia. She recently returned home to Toronto after teaching MYP Math at a leading international IB school in Beijing, China, for three years.
Michelle has extensive experience working with students who need additional academic support or skill development, as well as those looking to extend their learning beyond classroom content. Her strengths include identifying areas where students struggle or lack key skills, and helping them develop these skills and concepts through personalized instruction. Known for her friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor, Michelle is currently teaching at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends.
RISHI B.
Rishi is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a bachelors in computing science, and a minor in Math, as well as a certificate in advanced game programming from Sheridan College. Born in India, and immigrating to Canada when he was 3 years old, Rishi has lived in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Oakville, and, most recently, Toronto. Growing up all over Canada and frequently visiting his home country helped to developed in him a deep love for travel and making connections with people from all over the world. During these visits to India, he would spend much time with his extended family, specifically his younger siblings. Helping with his siblings school work fostered in him an immense passion for teaching. While completing his bachelors, Rishi chose to spend his spare time volunteering for organizations on campus that focused on education. Through these organizations he has visited elementary schools as a guest science teacher, helped with high school exam and university prep for newcomers to Canada, and helped university students with first year math courses. In addition to his volunteer experience, Rishi has also worked as a math, science, and English tutor for Sylvan Learning and Oxford Learning. As a tutor, Rishi is very capable of teaching a wide array of subjects, but loves nothing more than teaching math & English. His goal with his students is to breakdown the stereotype of math and English not being fun. For him, seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks in a students mind and they start enjoying what they are learning is incredibly rewarding.
SPYROS K.
Spyros has been teaching at the high school and university level since September of 2020. He earned his undergraduate degree in Computational Mathematics from York University and a Master’s in Applied Mathematics. His primary research focus was on mathematical modeling in nanotechnology. His educational experience includes holding tutorials and math labs as a tutorial instructor, supporting students in first and second-year university courses, as well as those needing to fill gaps in their high school math knowledge. He uses real-world examples to make abstract mathematical concepts more understandable. Outside of teaching, he enjoys cycling and reading. His teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive dialogue to help students develop confidence and a strong grasp of the material.
OMID T.

MONICA M.
Monica Miller is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She attended St. Francis Xavier University, where she obtained her BSc studying Chemistry. She earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary in May 2024, specializing in secondary science. While completing her BEd, she worked as a research assistant, looking into the benefits of the flipped classroom model across various disciplines. She has over 3 years experience as a private tutor, primarily working with students in grades 7-12 (Chemistry, Mathematics, Science) and first year university (Chemistry).
Monica is passionate about STEM education and fostering student curiosity and critical thinking skills. She strives to establish a learning environment where students feel valued and supported, working together to build a strong foundation for academic success.
Originally from Ottawa, Monica now resides in Toronto. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, and cooking.
KATE M.
This is Kate M. and her pronouns are she/her. Kate is a neurodivergent queer educator, Registered Early Childhood Educator, and an Ontario Certified Teacher. As an educator, who has been involved in a variety of Early Childhood Education and Care and school settings for seven years in Waterloo and Toronto, Kate has experienced continuous professional learning opportunities through engaging with children, educators, teachers, supervisors, principles, families, and the community. Kate continues to be flexible in adapting her teaching philosophy to the changing world that we all live in. Her teachable academic subjects are in Primary-Junior that includes introduction to special education and mental health. Her main passion is music and this has been a part of her life since she was very young. Kate has been singing in music festivals since she was 8 years old. This led to choral singing and voice lessons with the Royal Conservatory of Music, completing level 8, and then having the experience to teach music lessons privately as well as through Wilfred Laurier University. Kate has also learned how to play guitar, flute, piano, ukulele, and the mandolin as well as studying music theory. Her interests and hobbies are in music, the arts, outdoor education, as well as exploring the city, traveling, and visiting friends and family.
MEGAN L.
Megan grew up in Calgary and moved to Toronto to complete an Undergraduate Degree in Economics at the University of Toronto. Throughout her academic journey, Megan has consistently earned recognition as a Dean’s List Scholar and has been the recipient of multiple scholarships in acknowledgment of her outstanding achievements. With a passion for education and working with children, Megan aspires to pursue a career in teaching. Drawing upon over 3 years of diverse teaching experiences, ranging from one-on-one tutoring sessions with young learners to conducting group lessons with university students, Megan has supported the improvement of their reading, writing, vocabulary, and math skills. Megan takes the time to understand her students’ unique learning styles and needs to create a personalized teaching approach. She prioritizes building a solid foundation and equipping her students with effective learning strategies to empower them in their academic pursuits. Beyond the classroom, Megan can be found exploring the city with her camera in hand, reading at a cafe, and hosting dinner gatherings with her friends.
AMAL S.
Amal is a goal-driven professional educator with a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Finance and Banking, boasting 15 years of experience in teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is adept at planning, delivering, and adapting course curricula and teaching styles in both English and French to optimize student learning. Amal has successfully instructed and mentored over 60 students in a multicultural setting, employing Active Learning methodologies and integrating technology to enhance classroom experiences.
With a passion for education, Amal has contributed significantly to various educational settings. She has served as a Mathematics and Sciences Teacher at La Citadelle Academy of Sciences and Arts, where she instructed curriculum in French for students in grades 3 to 5, implementing innovative teaching strategies to engage students in a bilingual environment. Additionally, she has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Concordia University, developing and teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is also currently involved in the Teaching Assistant Program at the University of Toronto and is a Private French Tutor, providing personalized tutoring sessions to enhance critical thinking skills and concentration in French Immersion programs.
Amal’s academic journey includes a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Pedagogy, with a specialization in Online Teaching and Learning, from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. She is a multilingual educator fluent in French, English, and Arabic, and her expertise extends to various educational technology platforms.
In addition to her teaching experience, Amal is actively involved in research and community-based initiatives. Outside of her professional endeavors, Amal enjoys connecting with nature, watching birds and pigeons, and indulging her creative side by writing children’s books.
TAYLOR J.
Taylor is a Special Education teacher with the Toronto District School Board. She graduated with a Master of Teaching from OISE in 2021, and has obtained qualifications in teaching students with communication needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities. Taylor has taken courses in Structured Literacy from the International Dyslexia Organization, and is trained in the Wilson Reading System. In addition, Taylor is a Registered Behavior Technician with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and has taken extensive training with the Geneva Centre in Applied Behavior Analysis, Functional Behavior Assessment, and utilizing evidence-based strategies for teaching students on the Autism spectrum. Taylor utilizes a data-driven and strengths-based approach to creating learning plans to ensure students are making progress and meeting curriculum goals.
In her spare time, Taylor enjoys spending time with her son, as well as boxing, cycling, and hiking.
MOLLY P.
Molly is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) currently teaching at an independent IB school in Toronto. She graduated from Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program with qualifications in the Primary/Junior Division. Additionally, she has experience working with children and youth in both daycare and outdoor education settings. She has even worked as an au pair in the Netherlands!
As an educator, she is passionate about inquiry-based learning, as well as applying a culturally responsive approach to her teaching. Molly’s goal is to create meaningful learning experiences by centering her students’ voice, choice, and ownership as pillars of their learning. As a lifelong learner, Molly is currently focused on completing a course by the International Dyslexia Association, so that she can help improve her students’ phonics skills and further develop their love of reading.
Molly loves getting outside and exploring nature. On the weekends she loves to go on long walks while listening to a good podcast! She is also quite fond of her foster kitty Fred, who is always there to give a great cuddle. As an avid reader, Molly welcomes any and all book recommendations sent her way!
