CARMEL Y.
Carmel Youkhana completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in April 2022. Prior to this, she attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she enjoyed completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. Throughout her teenage years, Carmel loved working at various summer camps and tutored English, which is where her passion for working with children began. As she continued to take on teaching roles during her university career, she realized her love for education and learning. For the past year and a half, Carmel has had the pleasure of teaching English to international students ages 3-12 through an online learning platform. She believes in fostering confidence in all her students and has a passion for making learning an enjoyable experience.
During her teaching practicum, Carmel taught students in the intermediate/senior division, specifically grade 8’s and all grades in high school. She has taught a variety of subjects in the classroom but has always had a knack for science/biology and English. Carmel’s job as an English teacher has given her the opportunity to work with a wide range of students in a one- on-one setting, developing her ability to build strong relationships and personalize lessons. She has a strong desire to see students succeed and will guide them to reaching their full potential. Outside of teaching, you can find Carmel hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
JOCELYN H.
Jocelyn graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph in 2023 and is now pursuing her Bachelor of Education at Ontario Tech University. With 2.5 years of experience as an Emergency Supply Teacher and after-school tutor with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, she has worked with students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, fostering both academic growth and personal development.
Her experience across multiple elementary schools has honed her ability to adapt to diverse teaching styles and student needs, allowing her to build strong connections and create engaging, supportive learning environments. As an after-school tutor, she has helped students strengthen their math, reading, writing, and vocabulary skills with patience and encouragement.
Jocelyn is deeply passionate about student well-being, prioritizing mental health and emotional support to ensure every student feels valued, confident, and ready to learn. With her enthusiasm, adaptability, and dedication, she strives to make every learning experience meaningful and fun!
ANGELA E-C.
Angela Erskine Cranston is an Ontario Certified Teacher, Child and Youth Practitioner, Fine Arts painter.
She grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. After finishing high school, Angela attended the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Preforming Arts where she completed a Diploma in Painting and Printmaking. She then attended the Mico University College where she completed a Diploma in teaching. Angela taught Visual Arts at the intermediate/senior division in Jamaica before moving to the Turks and Caicos Islands. While still in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Angela jumped at the opportunity when it came for her to teach in the primary/junior division. She taught grade 4 literacy for 4 years.
Through these experiences in and aboard, Angela developed a passion for teaching and working with special needs children. This propelled her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care at the Humber College, Toronto. After receiving her Bachelors, she decided to go one step further to completing her Master’s in Education with a specialization in special education at the Walden University, Minnesota.
Presently, Angela works for the School Board. She supports the improvement of students with special needs as well as students in the general education classroom. She believes in engaging and building strong healthy relationships with children, youth, and their family.
In Angela’s spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family. Angela also enjoys painting and exhibiting her artworks in galleries. She has shared in several young professional and young generation group exhibitions for Jamaican artists presenting works in Jamaica’s galleries. Angela’s most recent artworks is on display at the Beaux Art Gallery, Brampton.
DANIEL C.
My name is Daniel. I am qualified to teach Grades K – 12. My teachable subject areas include the Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Law. I also hold additional qualifications in special education (I have my special education specialist), religion, and autism. I have taught a diverse range of subjects. I have experience working with students in the Moderate Communication Program and the Planning for Independence Program in the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board. I have both in-person and virtual teaching experience with special needs and mainstream students in multiple school boards. This includes the Halton Public, Halton Catholic, Peel Catholic, & the Hamilton – Wentworth Catholic District School Board. I have had IEP students with various learning needs in many of my online and in-person classes. I also have diverse teaching experience as I have worked with students across the GTA from grades K-12 through the publicly funded education system and private tutoring. I am now a permanent secondary teacher with the Hamilton – Wentworth Catholic District School Board. As a tutor, I am experienced in delivering customized learning plans designed to address each student’s needs. I strive to support students in developing self-confidence in their academic abilities, and work hard to improve their study habits with the goal of achieving academic success.
CODY F.
Cody is a dedicated and passionate educator committed to fostering student success and development. A graduate of the University of Toronto and OISE, he specializes in mathematics, chemistry, and physics. With over eight years of diverse teaching experience, Cody has worked in various educational settings, including as a swim instructor, university teaching assistant, and classroom teacher. His teaching journey has taken him across multiple countries, allowing him to adapt to different curriculum structures and tailor his approach to students with diverse learning styles and needs.
Believing that strong student-teacher connections are fundamental to academic growth, Cody prioritizes building supportive and meaningful relationships with his students. As a tutor, he is committed to helping every student reach their full potential, recognizing that success is achievable with the right support and a personalized approach to learning.
ZOYA K.
Zoya graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization in Pathology and Laboratory Science, equipping her with a strong foundation in scientific analysis and critical thinking. With over five years of tutoring experience, she has worked with university, high school, and elementary students across subjects including science, math, and French.
Passionate about education and mentorship, Zoya is committed to helping students build confidence in their abilities while fostering a deep understanding of key concepts. She takes an enthusiastic and organized approach to teaching, ensuring that lessons are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style.

GABRIELA G.
Gabriela is a graduate from the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto – OISE, in the primary/junior/intermediate divisions. She holds a certification as an Early Childhood Educator. Gabriela is also fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish. Gabriela has experience teaching all subject areas and has volunteered in elementary school classrooms. During her time at the University of Toronto, she focused her research on different types of supports that can be provided for students with ADHD, within the school system. As such, she understands that students have different needs, and as teachers, their primary job is to support students’ individual learning needs. She believes students have an extensive range of abilities and are capable of achieving anything and everything they put their minds on, with the correct guidance and support. In her spare time, Gabriela enjoys being around nature, hiking, running, training and spending time with family and friends.
SABILA H.
Sabila graduated from Western University with a major in Financial Modelling. She has several years of experience tutoring students in Math and English. Sabila is passionate about teaching and working with students. She strives to make a positive impact on students by using various learning strategies in order to better help them understand concepts and solve problems.
LISA F.
Lisa is an Ontario Certified Teacher who is qualified to teach K-12. She attended Brock University where she completed the Concurrent Education Program and received both her B.A with a minor in French and Geography as well as her B.Ed. She proceed to complete her Masters of Education at Brock in 2015 with a focus on Leadership and Administration. Lisa has been teaching for approximately 8 years and enjoys helping children learn and understand fundamental skills required to be successful in education and life. She likes to make learning relatable and meaningful by connecting the concepts to hobbies and interests that the child enjoys.
Lisa strives to be a source of positivity and aims to motivate her students to always try their best and work as hard as possible to achieve all of their dreams and goals. She hopes to encourage a passion for life-long learning and to provide students with the tools and confidence they need to be successful in all they do.
In addition to her commitment to her students and education, Lisa enjoys reading books, watching films and tv shows, and going on long walks with her two dogs, Luna and Diesel. She is very passionate about her “furry children” and enjoys finding new trails and places to explore with them. She loves music, art, museums, and historical areas and looks to continue to broaden her knowledge in these areas.

Asha is a kind and passionate teacher who believes that every child brings their own brand of genius to the table. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and attended University of Windsor after for Teacher’s college. She also has additional qualifications in Special Education and Teaching English Language Learners.
Asha has experience teaching students across various age groups and strongly believes in differentiating the lesson to fit the needs of her students. She believes that every child is capable of reaching their full potential with a little encouragement and support along the way. She loves getting students to engage in the material through the use of a variety of activities. Aside from teaching, Asha loves reading, exploring new food spots and trails, and spending time with her friends and family.
