Yetunde is a French instructor with over 35 years teaching experience in the international setting. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Masters in ESL, her experience spans working within a classroom setting and personalized one-on-one lessons.
She started her teaching career at the Alliance Française, the largest and oldest network of French language and cultural centers in the world (founded in 1883 in Paris), working with professionals, students, and stay at home parents.
She has a proven track record of 32 years working with Elementary and Middle school students at the American International School of Lagos, Nigeria.
Her experience also includes working with high school students at The Academy of The Holy Cross in Kensington, MD.

With a strong background in education, she has also gained extensive experience in tutoring, specializing in working with students from 4th through 9th grade, particularly in math. Her passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom. She has actively participated in educational boot camps and enrichment programs and will continue to do so this summer. Jennifer F. is a dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic educator who recently retired after over 30 years of teaching. Jennifer’s journey into education began with her undergraduate degree in early childhood education from the University of Maryland at College Park. She obtained a Master of Arts in early childhood education from Hood College. These academic achievements laid a strong foundation for her illustrious teaching career. Jennifer has taught pre-K, kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. From her early childhood, Jennifer aspired to be a teacher. Before embarking on her full-time teaching career, Jennifer gained valuable experience working with children in summer camps. She started as a CIT (Counselor in Training) and continued to be a junior counselor, counselor, and camp director. These early roles honed her skills in child supervision and engagement. Even after retirement, Jennifer’s passion for education remains undiminished. She works part-time as an online reading tutor, assisting kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth-grade students Through all of this experience, she has learned how to be patient with students. She has also learned that you need to build a relationship with each student. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys writing about herself in the third person! She also writes poetry, showcasing her creative side. Jennifer’s love for reading is another significant aspect of her life. Spending quality time with loved ones is an essential part of her life, providing her with joy and fulfillment.

JoAnn C.

JoAnn graduated from the University Maryland and earned a masters degree in Education from Marymount University and a Ph.D. in Genetics from GWU. She has taught a variety of subjects in K-8th grade for more than 10 years. Her specialties are writing, math, science, STEM and computer skills. JoAnn adapts teaching techniques to each student, helping them achieve mastery. She is passionate about building the foundations, explaining concepts thoroughly and making sure a comprehensive understanding has been achieved. In her free time, JoAnn enjoys tennis, traveling, dogs, and spending time with her family.

François-Michel L.

François-Michel L. discovered his love of teaching and tutoring when he taught a computer class while still in high school and has resided in the Washington DC area since 1991. He graduated with High Honors from Princeton University with an AB in Classics and wrote his senior thesis on ancient Greek epic poems (it wasn’t all Greek to him ). He then obtained an MSE degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a sought-after tutor in both French and Computer Science. After graduating, he worked for ten years as an IT director at Fannie Mae before becoming a Scientific Systems Developer at the National Institutes of Health. At every job he has worked, he has had the great privilege of teaching technical and/or business classes to junior staff and providing one-on-one coaching as a corporate mentor. He is known as a dynamic and entertaining presenter and public speaker, holds both French and American citizenship, and is qualified to teach and tutor English, French, Latin, Math, and Linux. François is also allergic to cats, so please let him know if you have furry feline friends so he can take his allergy eyedrops ahead of time!

M. Galal

Mr. Galal is not your average educator—he’s a dynamic force in the classroom, blending the discipline and focus of a black belt martial artist with the passion and dedication of an experienced educator. With a distinguished background in teaching English as a second language (ESOL), standardized test preparation such as SAT, GMAT & GRE, and Advanced Placement (AP) exams, Mr. Galal holds a Master’s of Arts degree with honors in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and is certified as a PREK-12/ESOL teacher in both Washington, D.C. and the State of Maryland.

With over two decades of experience in education, Mr. Galal has taught and trained students across a wide array of settings—from K-12 schools to community colleges and universities. He is currently a full-time multilingual educator who teaches English as a second language, AP US History, and SAT preparation at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C. and he is a test preparation instructor at the American University. In addition, he serves as an AP test reader for ETS (Educational Testing Service) while managing a couple of test preparation centers he founded in Cairo, Egypt. He has also been recognized with multiple honors, including the United Nations Honor Medals for his service during peacekeeping missions. Besides his witty personality, Mr. Galal has also been known as “the teacher you don’t want to mess with!” since he once was a black belt, internationally ranked Karate player!
