David Friscic is an educator and writer who is interested in meeting students’ needs and expectations to help them move ahead with confidence in any areas of learning about which they are concerned. He likes to help students enjoy success as well as the challenges that arise from a solid and helpful learning environment. David’s learning strategy is to develop a strong reciprocal understanding of the academic goals of each student.
Through intense work in an upstate New York middle school while student teaching, David focused his skills and graduated with his BA from Siena College in English/Education. As David collaborated with middle school students in his teaching career, he often tutored students after school to help them with areas of concern in English grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, and writing skills.
David rekindled his love of literature and writing with a MA degree in English with honors from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. A love of teaching continued as David immersed himself in teaching middle school after obtaining his degree.
After attending Catholic University to study theology for 3 years, he transitioned into working for the federal government. Working at the National Science Foundation for 30 years inspired David with a commitment to educational outreach for students in classrooms and organizations; such as developing interactive strategies to help students learn about the arctic region and the continent of Antarctica. Proud to have won many awards for public service, David was fortunate to collaborate
with many teachers and schools to foster education in science and the polar regions. David was also fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Antarctica and Greenland in support of the scientific community. David represented the National Science Foundation at many conferences and forums.
David is pleased to write reviews and features stories for the Broadway World Theatre site, and this affords him a wonderful opportunity to write for a wide audience. He was proud to have been offered a membership in the prestigious American Theatre Critics/Journalists Association.
David enjoys the arts, traveling, and swimming in his spare time.
David genuinely believes that a love of writing, grammar, reading comprehension and literature can make life more rewarding, and he looks forward to helping you reach your academic goals.
