Shawana K.

Shawana holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Guelph, Canada. Since 2022, she has been teaching Economics and Quantitative Methods courses at the CEGEP level in a contractual position. Seth B.

Seth recently completed his Master of Public Policy degree from McGill University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. With a strong foundation in both STEM and the social sciences, he brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his teaching.

His approach to learning is inspired by his motivation to connect theory and learning from the classroom to real-world problems and situations to make learning both engaging and relevant. Seth is comfortable teaching elementary and high-school subjects with particular expertise in chemistry, physics, mathematics, social studies, and the general sciences.

His teaching philosophy focuses on fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment where students can learn to take initiative, think critically, and develop a genuine pride in their learning. He hopes to equip students with the proper skills to both excel academically and prepare for success beyond the classroom.

Sofia Z.

ENG : Sofia earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Physics with the French Immersion Program (2025) at the University of Ottawa. Bilingual in both French and English. She has worked in laboratories specialized in biophysics and photonics at the university. In her theoretical classes she excelled in many of her mathematics courses (Calculus, Linear Algebra) and her physics courses (Theoretical Physics, Mechanics, Optics, Quantum Mechanics, Biophysics, Astrophysics, and more).

Experienced in tutoring, teaching, and leading a few workshops in science. She hopes she becomes a high school physics teacher that can inspire young minds to explore STEM. Beyond the workplace, Sofia has many different hobbies including hiking, camping, swimming, reading, and skiing !

Ayant commencé en tant que tutrice par les pairs au secondaire, elle donne maintenant du tutorat dans des entreprises privées et des centres d’apprentissage depuis plus de trois ans et possède une expérience auprès d’élèves du primaire au cégep, tant en cours individuels qu’en petits groupes. Elle prend beaucoup de plaisir à aider les élèves à s’épanouir et à atteindre leur plein potentiel. EN: Keya is currently in the last year of her Bachelors in Honours Cognitive Science at McGill University, with a concentration in Computer Science and a minor in South Asian Studies.
Having started out as a peer tutor in high school, she has now been tutoring at private companies and learning centres for over 3 years and has experience working with students from elementary to CEGEP level, both one-on-one and using small-group instruction. She finds a lot of joy in helping students grow and reach their full potential. Madeleine A.

Madeleine is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and environment. Although biology, math, and chemistry are her main areas of interest, she is passionate about all branches of science. EN: From an early age, Sarah had a keen interest in law. The injustices she witnessed in her community and around the world motivated her to earn her high school diploma at College Saint-Louis, known for its global awareness and openness to world issues. Inspired by her volunteer work with Lachine’s Youth Council and Amnesty International, she went on to study Law, Society, and Justice at Dawson College. Her commitment to promoting fair treatment and equal opportunities led her to pursue further studies in law at the University of Montreal. In addition to her academic pursuits, Sarah developed a passion for volunteering. One of her volunteering experiences was tutoring French and math at her local library for several years. This allowed her to gain experience teaching children of all ages and adapting to their learning needs. She has tutored both elementary and high school French to her peers, as well as at the local library. She also helped her classmates and the kids at the library with their homework throughout her academic journey. Her tutoring experience taught her to be patient, tailor her approach to each student’s learning style, and build strong connections to support their success.
