Jiyeon I.

EN: Ms. Jiyeon is pursuing her Bachelor of Education in French Immersion Kindergarten and Elementary Education at McGill University.
Ms. Jiyeon will be entering her 4th year into the program and embark on her third student teacher placement this fall 2024.

Ms. Jiyeon has taught French as a second language for students aged 5 through 12 with diverse cultural and linguistical backgrounds, along with various elementary subject matters at the French Immersion schools in Montréal during the past two years. Ms. Jiyeon believes in connection before curriculum, meaning that a relation must be built between the student and the teacher, in order for learning to occur.

When Ms. Jiyeon is not teaching, she likes to write, meditate, hike, and venture through the many bookstores and the beautiful landscapes of Montréal!

Mme Jiyeon a enseigné le français langue seconde à des élèves âgés de 5 à 12 ans, issus de divers horizons culturels et linguistiques, ainsi que diverses matières au niveau élémentaire dans les écoles d’immersion française de Montréal au cours des deux dernières années. Mme Jiyeon croit en l’importance de la connexion avant le programme, c’est-à-dire qu’une relation doit être établie entre l’élève et l’enseignant pour que l’apprentissage ait lieu.

Lorsque Mme Jiyeon n’enseigne pas, elle aime écrire, méditer, faire de la randonnée et explorer les nombreuses librairies et les magnifiques paysages de Montréal !

Alex Kerkhoff

Alex has a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Concordia University, as well as a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto. He has been teaching / tutoring students in English for 4 years from elementary level to CEGEP. His specialization is in academic essay writing and he loves helping others develop their communication skills.

In his spare time, Alex is a prolific musician who performs in venues across Montreal!

Lauren V.

Aude is currently in her first undergraduate year in the honours physics program at McGill University. She graduated from Champlain Ste-Lawrence CEGEP on the Dean’s list in 2023 with a degree in pure and applied sciences. She was awarded the Governor General’s medal for her high school journey. She has tutored students from kindergarten all the way to CEGEP for over two years in English as well as in French. She is passionate about science, especially regarding space and the early mysteries of our universe. You can often find Aude looking up at the sky, eager to identify constellations and planets in the sky. She also loves art, music and any winter sport.

FR: Aude est dans sa première année d’études dans le programme « Honours Physics » de l’université Mcgill. Elle a gradué du programme des sciences pures et appliquées du CEGEP Champlain Ste-Lawrence sur la liste d’honneurs en 2023. Elle a également reçu la médaille du gouverneur général pour son parcours académique au secondaire. Elle a travaillé comme tuteur depuis plus de deux ans auprès d’élèves d’âge primaire jusqu’au CEGEP en anglais ainsi qu’en français. Daniel is a current BCL/JD candidate at the McGill Faculty of Law with a Master of Arts in Political Science from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Queen’s University. Taïs V.

EN: Taïs was born in France and graduated from high school in Montreal with a French Baccalaureate, making French her first language. She also speaks English and Spanish fluently.
Taïs studied in McGill University from which she obtained a bachelors in Biology, and she graduated with Honours and an Animal Health Specialization.
Last year, Taïs had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador where she worked as a volunteer in a small town to organize after-school activities for kids and help them with school work. Furthermore, her first jobs in Montreal consisted in being a summer camp counsellor in which she taught the basics of tennis, badminton, soccer, and swimming to several groups of kids (ranging from 4 to 14 years old).
Taïs is an enthusiastic, patient and social person, and believes her skills will hold a positive impact, learning-wise, on the kids she will tutor.

FR: Taïs est née en France et a obtenu un baccalauréat français à Montréal, ce qui fait du français sa première langue. Elle parle également couramment l’anglais et l’espagnol.

L’année dernière, Taïs a eu l’occasion de voyager en Équateur où elle a travaillé comme bénévole dans une petite ville pour organiser des activités parascolaires pour les enfants et les aider dans leurs travaux scolaires. EN: Isabel is a literary translator and graduate student in Littérature comparée (Comparative Literature) at l’Université de Montréal. She has an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Philosophy and German Studies, with a minor in French Literature from the University of King’s College and Dalhousie University.

She has worked as a teacher in both high school and elementary schools in English and French classes. As a tutor, Isabel prioritizes helping her students to nurture their creativity, curiosity, sense of determination and organizational skills.

Isabel is passionate about literature, film, history and art. In her spare time, she is learning metal-working.

Cherry is on course to graduate from McGill University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience.
