Taïs V.
EN: Taïs was born in France and graduated from high school in Montreal with a French Baccalaureate, making French her first language. She also speaks English and Spanish fluently.
Taïs studied in McGill University from which she obtained a bachelors in Biology, and she graduated with Honours and an Animal Health Specialization.
Last year, Taïs had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador where she worked as a volunteer in a small town to organize after-school activities for kids and help them with school work. Furthermore, her first jobs in Montreal consisted in being a summer camp counsellor in which she taught the basics of tennis, badminton, soccer, and swimming to several groups of kids (ranging from 4 to 14 years old).
Taïs is an enthusiastic, patient and social person, and believes her skills will hold a positive impact, learning-wise, on the kids she will tutor.
FR: Taïs est née en France et a obtenu un baccalauréat français à Montréal, ce qui fait du français sa première langue. Elle parle également couramment l’anglais et l’espagnol.
Taïs a étudié à l’Université McGill, où elle a obtenu une licence en biologie, avec mention très bien et une spécialisation en santé animale.
L’année dernière, Taïs a eu l’occasion de voyager en Équateur où elle a travaillé comme bénévole dans une petite ville pour organiser des activités parascolaires pour les enfants et les aider dans leurs travaux scolaires. De plus, ses premiers emplois à Montréal ont consisté à être monitrice dans un camp d’été où elle a enseigné les rudiments du tennis, du badminton, du soccer et de la natation à plusieurs groupes d’enfants (âgés de 4 à 14 ans).
Taïs est une personne enthousiaste, patiente et sociable, et croit que ses compétences auront un impact positif sur l’apprentissage des enfants qu’elle encadrera.

EN: Isabel is a literary translator with an MA in Comparative Literature from the Université de Montréal. She holds an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Philosophy and German Studies, with a minor in French Literature, from the University of King’s College and Dalhousie University.
She has worked as a teacher in both elementary and high school English and French classrooms.
As a tutor, Isabel focuses on helping her students develop strong reading comprehension abilities and precise, polished writing skills that will serve them well no matter what direction they choose for their future. She also aims to help her students cultivate the patience, positivity, and determination needed to strengthen essential problem-solving and organizational skills.

Cherry is on course to graduate from McGill University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience. She attended Marianopolis College in Honours Health Science with the Director General’s Student Life major entrance scholarship. She has been tutoring high school and CEGEP level courses for 3 years online and in person. As someone who has struggled with stress/anxiety, difficulty understanding, and time organization, Cherry pursues tutoring to help others overcome their academic struggles. Her approach is to understand the optimal learning strategies of her students and use their strengths to help them succeed.

EN: Kelly is going into her Master’s degree in Immunology at Concordia University. Having grown up anglophone and attending french schools her whole life, she is a perfectly bilingual tutor with upward of 5 years of experience. She has tutoring expertise in biology and math, as well as English and French. Having spent her summers at a sleepaway camp as a camper and staff member, she developed a deep appreciation of nature and the outdoors which led her to pursue a career in biology. In her spare time, she will often be found reading a book or knitting in a park.

Kelly se spécialise en biologie et en mathématiques, ainsi qu’en anglais et en français. Ayant passé ses étés dans un camp de vacances avec hébergement, d’abord comme campeuse puis comme membre du personnel, elle a développé une profonde appréciation de la nature et du plein air, ce qui l’a inspirée à poursuivre une carrière en biologie.

He has always loved being in a classroom environment and has a passion for teaching people things he has learnt. EN: Ibrahim is completing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Concordia University after having acquired therefrom BEng and MASc degrees.
For six years, Ibrahim has worked as a teaching assistant and lab demonstrator for a variety of mathematics, physics, and engineering courses while also offering private tutoring services to students at his academic institution.
His specialties are Math (including Calculus and Linear), Physics, and Programming (C++, Python) all up to the university level.
Ibrahim has received some amount of recognition for his academic performance be it in the form of appearing in the Dean’s list or humbly accepting different academic scholarships and awards.
Ibrahim regards few roles to be as fulfilling as that of the teacher to the student and seeks to emulate this idea in both his professional and personal lives.

Ibrahim a reçu plusieurs reconnaissances pour son rendement académique, que ce soit par sa présence sur la liste du doyen ou par l’obtention de diverses bourses et distinctions académiques.
Ibrahim considère que peu de rôles sont aussi enrichissants que celui de l’enseignant auprès de l’élève et cherche à incarner cette idée tant dans sa vie professionnelle que personnelle.

EN: Maria is a Software Engineering student at McGill. She attended high school at College Saint-Louis and John Abbott College in the science program. During her last year of high school, she started to peer tutor by helping her classmates to succeed in Chemistry. She also worked on Saturdays as a teacher assistant.
