Sagar M. is a dedicated math, statistics, and coding tutor with over nine years of professional experience helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. He holds a master’s degree and works as a Data Science Manager, applying advanced mathematics, statistics, and analytical thinking to real-world problems every day. My name is Margaret V. I graduated from Johnson State College in Vermont with a BA in History and secondary teaching certificate. I have a Masters in Educational leadership from St. Mary’s University. I have taught for 30 years from elementary school to professional facilitator for training. As an academic tutor, I enjoy helping students understand challenging material and gain confidence in their abilities. I focus on clear explanations, practical strategies, and personalized support to help students succeed in coursework, exams, and writing assignments. My goal is to make learning less stressful and more empowering.

 

 

Gregory N.

Gregory is an experienced Math and Science tutor with a long-standing passion for helping students grow in confidence, skill, and academic performance. With decades of instructional experience across K–12 and adult education, Gregory brings deep expertise in algebra, geometry, high school math, SAT/ACT math and science prep, and foundational skills for younger learners.

Gregory has served as an instructor and tutor at Huntington Learning Center, where he prepared high school students for success on the SAT and ACT—particularly in the math and science sections—and supported K–12 students through extended learning programs. He has also taught algebra at Austin Community College as part of their college prep program and has extensive experience working with students who have learning differences.

Known for his patience, warmth, and relationship-focused approach, Gregory creates a positive, no-pressure learning atmosphere that helps students engage, take risks, and believe in their abilities. He uses encouragement, play-based learning when appropriate, and thoughtful questioning to strengthen comprehension and build lasting confidence.

Gregory’s career also includes work as a substitute teacher, GED instructor, small-business owner, and corporate manager—experiences that enrich his ability to connect learning with real-world applications.

 

 

 

Kailee H.

Kailee is a lifelong learner with more than 14 years of experience in education. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from Texas State University. During college, she dedicated over 100 volunteer hours each semester to supporting students in local elementary classrooms—a reflection of her early commitment to teaching.

She is certified in Early Childhood through 6th grade (EC–6) and English as a Second Language (ESL), with extensive experience supporting students of all learning styles and abilities. Kailee has worked closely with special education teams to create inclusive, supportive classrooms where every student can thrive. Kailee has taught in Round Rock ISD and Harmony Public Schools, gaining experience across all elementary grade levels, K–5. Over her eight years in the classroom, she served as a core subject teacher, reading and math specialist, and even launched her school’s STEAM program from the ground up. She also taught virtually during COVID—an experience that strengthened her creativity and adaptability as an educator.

Kailee believes in the power of positivity and encouragement to help students build confidence and reach their full potential. She creates a warm and safe learning environment where students feel seen, supported, and excited to learn.

Beyond the classroom, Kailee served as the Director of Workforce Development for the Boys & Girls Club of America, helping underserved youth discover their passions and career paths—while continuing to tutor students after school. Today, she works as an Education Director for a local nonprofit in the construction field. Although she now focuses on adult education, Kailee’s love for teaching children inspired her to return to tutoring part-time.

A passionate reader (she’s read more than 150 books this year!), Kailee embraces every opportunity to learn something new. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, teaching swim lessons, playing games, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

Jomana I.

Meet Jomana! A passionate science and math tutor, Jomana brings energy, expertise, and real-world experience to every lesson. She lived and studied in California for more than two decades, earning a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, and later building a successful career as a scientist in the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) biotech field. Her extensive laboratory and research background—spanning RNA/DNA extraction, sequencing workflows, data analysis, and project leadership—gives her a deep, practical understanding of science that enriches her tutoring sessions.

Jomana’s advanced academic and professional experience has built a strong foundation in math (including Algebra, Geometry, and foundational problem-solving skills) and in science, including Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and related subjects. She brings these topics to life with explanations that are clear, relatable, and engaging, helping students not just memorize content but truly understand it.

A lifelong honor student and mother of three honor students—now all thriving in college—Jomana understands that every learner has a unique way of thinking. She celebrates diversity, supports accommodations, and believes deeply that each student is capable, smart, and motivated when given the right tools and encouragement.

Valerie F.

Valerie F. is an experienced STEM educator and Math and Science tutor. She grew up in Austria and is fluent in German, while currently improving her conversational Spanish. Having moved to Texas as a child, she brings a multicultural perspective that helps her connect with students from all backgrounds and create a welcoming, supportive learning environment.

Valerie earned a Bachelor of Arts in German from Texas State University, completed her Texas Educator Certificate through Lone Star College’s Alternative Certification Program, and holds an Associate of Applied Science in 3D Animation from Austin Community College. She has taught students from 1st through 8th grade in math, science, robotics, drones, public speaking, art, and introductory coding—designing hands-on, project-based lessons using tools like Scratch and mBlock that spark curiosity and strengthen foundational skills.

She has extensive experience supporting ESL learners and students with diverse learning needs, including special needs students inspired by her own family experiences. As a tutor, Valerie focuses on building confidence, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving skills by tailoring instruction to each student’s strengths and learning style.

Outside the classroom, Valerie mentors new educators and develops innovative lessons that blend technology, creativity, and real-world STEM applications. Trisha B.

Trisha B is an experienced tutor and mentor with a strong background in mathematics instruction and test preparation. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes clarity, patience, and adaptability. Beyond tutoring, Trisha brings a wealth of leadership and professional experience. She is currently pursuing her degree in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University and has held roles in product management, technical program management, and nonprofit leadership. As founder of The Art Shine Foundation, she built and led a global volunteer organization, demonstrating her commitment to mentorship, community impact, and clear communication.

Fluent in English and Hindi, and proficient in Spanish, Trisha’s diverse background allows her to connect with students from a wide range of experiences. She is also a published speaker and has been recognized through honors such as the Clinton Global Initiative University and United Nations Millennium Fellowship. Trisha is dedicated to helping students not only meet their academic goals but also gain the skills and confidence to thrive in future challenge

 

 

 

Christopher H.

Christopher is a native Austinite with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and certification to teach grades 7–12 in Composite Sciences through the UTeach program. He has taught Chemistry, Physics, and Math in both Temple ISD and Austin ISD, and currently serves as a substitute teacher for KIPP and IDEA public schools, working with students in grades 3–12.

With years of classroom experience, Christopher skillfully integrates multiple teaching methodologies such as blended and flipped learning, standards-based grading, and lab-based instruction to meet students where they are and help them excel. He has extensive experience supporting learners with 504, ELL, and Special Education accommodations, ensuring that each student receives personalized, effective support.

Christopher takes a personal interest in helping students develop confidence and critical thinking skills in math and science, encouraging them to explain their reasoning and connect concepts to real-world applications. Outside of academics, he enjoys exploring his passion for culinary arts and nutrition, along with hobbies such as running, community service, drawing, and bouldering.

 

Matthew D.

Matthew grew up in Brenham, TX, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating magna cum laude. During his studies, he discovered his passion for teaching and helping students understand math and physics in ways that make sense to them.

Since 2021, Matthew has been a full-time educator in the Austin area, teaching and tutoring a wide range of subjects, including Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, Geometry, Algebra, and AP Physics. His teaching philosophy centers on building a strong conceptual foundation and adapting lessons to each student’s unique way of thinking. He has also worked successfully with students with learning differences such as dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and autism.

Matthew’s structured yet flexible approach helps students gain both confidence and mastery in their coursework. He is known for his patience, clear explanations, and ability to make challenging material approachable.

Outside of teaching, Matthew enjoys hiking, biking, reading, playing volleyball, and exploring new restaurants around Austin. (Fun fact: he once hacked Mario Kart Wii to add custom races!)

 

 

 

Jason L.

Jason is currently a Finance major at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and will be joining Bank of America this upcoming summer. Jason previously served as a STEM tutor for a non-profit organization, where his lessons in robotics and related fields reached more than 500 students.

He has extensive experience working with peers and younger students in mathematics, reading, and business fundamentals, including his involvement with DECA competitions. Jason brings patience, structure, and creativity to each session, helping students build both confidence and mastery in their coursework.

As a high school math tutor, Jason specializes in helping students strengthen their understanding of algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus while developing the critical thinking skills needed for long-term success. He believes that every student learns best when lessons are personalized and connected to their individual interests.

Outside of academics, Jason enjoys exploring new restaurants, hiking, and playing pickleball.
