Jenny N.
Jenny is an Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT). She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESL) certificate from York University. With experience ranging from middle school to adult learners, Jenny caters to the diverse learning and professional needs of her students by utilizing different teaching approaches.
A good educator is one who sets up a space for students to feel valued and motivated to participate. Jenny strives to achieve this by incorporating multimodal lessons that utilize emerging forms of technology, as well as activities catering to different learning styles, e.g., kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and more. Her goal is for students to leave her classroom with skills and values they can continue to use in their future careers and lives. Her lesson topics help students achieve curriculum goals while also having personal relevance.
In her free time, Jenny enjoys expanding her knowledge and furthering her skills for professional growth through teaching workshops and dialogue. Jenny believes that the teaching world is always improving and is keen on staying up-to-date with her teaching practice.
Tiffany M.
Tiffany is a passionate OCT certified teacher, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. She is currently in her final year at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, working towards her Master in Teaching.
Tiffany prioritizes building strong, trusting relationships with her students to cultivate an inclusive, caring, and safe learning environment. She tailors her teaching approach to address the unique needs of each student and is committed to challenging them to facilitate their growth and development.
In her free time, you can find Tiffany exploring nature trails with her pup Milo and discovering charming hidden cafes throughout the GTA.
Rebekah A.
Rebekah A. has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and a Masters of Teaching from OISE. Rebekah fell in love with teaching during her 2 years as a TEFL certified English teacher in Munsan, Paju, Korea. When she returned to Canada she continued her education at OISE. Her pedagogy is student inquiry led and employs the UDL or Universal Design Learning process to support ELLs, those with accessibility needs and everyone that needs a bit of support to reach their goals.
Giulia B.
Giulia is an accomplished tutor with a strong academic foundation in biochemistry and genetics. Holding an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from McGill University and a master’s degree in Genetics from the University of Toronto, she is currently in the final semester of the Master of Teaching program at OISE, specializing in high school biology and chemistry tutoring.
With over 10 years of tutoring experience, Giulia’s expertise extends beyond her academic disciplines. She has successfully tutored students in math, biology, and chemistry. Giulia’s passion lies in fostering one-on-one connections with students, prioritizing empathy to create a judgment-free learning environment. She ensures every student feels safe to ask questions, emphasizing understanding over memorization.

Tamara is currently pursuing her teaching degree in the Primary/Junior division at OISE’s Master of Teaching Program. With a background as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (ECE), she holds a bachelor’s degree in child development and a diploma in early childhood education. With over five years of dedicated experience working with children, Tamara is deeply passionate about fostering the well-being of students to ensure their success and thriving development. Lucía L.
Lucía L. was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. In Colombia, she attended an Italian immersion school for twelve years. She moved to Canada in 2014 and graduated from York University with a BFA in Dance. Since graduation, Lucía has worked as a professional dancer and teacher for over five years. Simultaneously she worked as a Student Recruiting Associate at The Bishop Strachan School, interviewing and assessing Junior School and Boarding School student applicants. At BSS, she developed strong relationships with incoming students and families and learned different teaching and learning methods from exceptional faculty. Lucía is a Master of Teaching (Primary/Junior) candidate at OISE, University of Toronto. She enjoys teaching Math, Spanish and Italian, supporting students studying skills and strategies. She is an enthusiastic and creative teacher passionate about building confidence in students learning.
Aubreyana R.
Aubreyana is currently in her final year pursuing her Master of Teaching at the University of Toronto. With a rich history of 15 years working with children, Aubreyana is passionate about fostering their growth and supporting them in their educational journeys. Her educational background includes an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Guelph, providing her with a solid foundation in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Aubreyana’s experience spans a diverse range of learning abilities, beginning with her work in an Early Intervention Program and progressing to her role as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). Currently aspiring to become a Primary/Junior teacher, Aubreyana’s dedication to working with children extends beyond the classroom. Her commitment is evident through her volunteer work at the Hospital for Sick Children and with Behaviour Matters, a mental health program. Aubreyana’s teaching philosophy revolves around creating conceptual lessons, establishing strong rapport with learners, and adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student. Her approach is characterized by enthusiasm, adaptability, and creativity, qualities she believes define a great teacher. Outside of her professional pursuits, Aubreyana enjoys various hobbies, including walking her dog, engaging in artistic activities such as painting and sketching, immersing herself in reading, and maintaining an active lifestyle through running. Gowsiga T.
In 2011, Gowsi earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science from York University. The following year, she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Human Rights and Equity Studies from the same institution. Seeking to deepen her expertise in human rights advocacy, Gowsi pursued and completed a Master of Arts in Immigration and Settlement Studies at Ryerson University in 2013. In 2019, she furthered her education, obtaining a Master of Teaching (Intermediate/Senior Level) from the University of Toronto (OISE).
Post-OISE graduation, Gowsi embarked on her teaching journey with notable institutions including the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), The Bishop Strachan School, and the University of Toronto Schools. Guided by a teaching philosophy emphasizing the creation of a nurturing and positive learning environment, she prioritizes tailored instruction that caters to individual learner needs and styles.
Anna P.
Anna is currently in her second year of the master of teaching degree at OISE in the intermediate/senior division. She has completed her teacher’s college practicums in grade 10 science and grade 12 biology classrooms where she used differentiated instruction and culturally responsive pedagogy to engage a wide range of students. She completed her undergraduate degree at McMaster University where she earned an honours bachelor of science degree in biology. Anna has tutored students from elementary to high school in a range of math and science courses. In her spare time she enjoys running, playing soccer, and walking her dog Rufus.
Lucas P.
Lucas is a Certified Teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board after graduating from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate/Senior division. Following graduation, Lucas continues to hone his skills as an educator teaching in the senior division in different high schools as he supports his student’s development in essay writing, critical thinking, citations and other learning skills. Lucas believes in and values the individuality of each student and strives to tailor his teaching and tutoring methods to best fit the student at hand.
For over 5 years Lucas has devoted his time working in camps with the City of Toronto and volunteering in schools within the TCDSB where he has learned how to create positive learning environments and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each learner. In his spare time, Lucas enjoys the outdoors either hiking in provincial parks or playing golf with friends and family.
