Mariia S.
Mariia S. graduated with honours from University of Waterloo majoring in Combinatorics and Optimization and Pure Mathematics. She has a Master’s degree in Combinatorics and Optimization from the same university. She has two joint publications and is currently in her final year of PhD in algebraic graph theory. In the past 10 years of her academic career, she has TAed numerous courses, tutored many students and is now teaching first year algebra course in University of Waterloo.
April C.
April is an internationally educated and trained teacher with 15 years of in-school experience. She comes to Canada with a shiny new BA in Education and OCT certificate after 14 years living and teaching in Japan. In her spare time, April is a professional magician, enjoys cooking, is a massive professional wrestling fan, and a general all purpose nerd.
Zierah S.
Zierah has completed her undergrad in Child and Youth Work at York University and is currently working toward her Bachelor of Education. She is also working as an Educational Assistant for the York Catholic District School board where she assists children and youth with special education needs in developing social and learning skills.
Zierah has worked with various age groups and excels in creating individual supporting plans to improve child’s development and independence though learning. Through her work with children she has developed a passion for putting a smile on every child’s face!
Vera V.
Vera, an aspiring French teacher, is currently working towards her undergraduate degree in French Studies at York University’s Glendon Campus. Upon finishing her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue her teaching career through the concurrent program at York University. During her third year, Vera was able to do an international exchange program in Brussels, Belgium, where she attended courses at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. During her exchange, she was able to immerse herself in the francophone culture which helped her enhance her French writing and speaking skills. Vera has always had a passion for working with children, and has gained lots of experience over the years. One of her most memorable experiences is working as a senior camp counsellor last summer at a Track and Field summer camp. With a background in tutoring as well, Vera takes joy in helping students achieve their goals and acquire skills that will benefit them throughout their academic journey. In her free time, Vera enjoys reading books, going on runs, and spending time with friends and family.
Savy M.
Savy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the world of education. With a Master’s degree in English as a postgraduate and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Savyasachin has honed the art of teaching over an impressive 10+ years in the field. Through their subject matter expertise in English, Communication skills, and Social Science, they help students to excel in school and discover their aptitude and academic interest for higher studies.
Their commitment to the Ontario Curriculum focuses on developing students’ skills of decision making, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, emotional intelligence, and effective communication.
Savy has demonstrated exceptional teaching abilities as a tutor, effectively instructing international students, bridging language gaps effortlessly, and fostering a multicultural learning environment.
Savy’s teaching methods encompass academic excellence and real-world applicability to instill a holistic understanding of the subjects while they make lessons engaging and interactive. They are adept in crafting context-driven, personalized study plans and activities, catering to the diverse learning styles of adults and children of all ages.
Furthermore, Savyasachin’s deep understanding of child psychology and adult learning styles contributes significantly to their teaching effectiveness.

Anders H.
Anders is a Primary, Junior and Intermediate Ontario Certified Teacher working during the school year with the Simcoe County District School Board with over 20 years experience. He graduated from Lakehed University with an Bachelor of Natural Science degree and Bachelors of Education. Anders has continued his professional development in teaching by taking additional qualifications courses in becoming a Specialist in both Special Education and Physical Education. Recently, Anders completed the Principals Qualification Program with the Ontario Principals Council.
Anders has experience teaching at the Junior and Intermediate divisions in all subjects- Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, English, Social Studies . He also has extensive experience working with students that have Individual Education Plans to support their learning styles. Anders taught in an Intermediate Learning Center and gained valuable experience learning best practices in instructing students with a variety of different learning styles. He also spent time teaching in the Northwest Territories community of Whati working with First Nation students and immersing himself in the Tlicho culture to understand pedagogy with northern students.
Anders has learned over the past 20 years of teaching that in order for students to fully engage in your program he must build positive rapport with the student. He will create a relationship built on student interests and use those interests to help support the student their their learning journey. Creating that foundation of trust is the basis of Anders’ instructional practices in the classroom and will continue to that with Prep Academy Tutors.
When not in the classroom, you can either find Anders on a lake fishing or in a hockey arena! Anders has a passion for sports and was involved in hockey professionally for many years as an official and continues to do that today as both a Junior Hockey coach and referee. He is married to another teacher for 21 years and has two children. His daughter attends Queens University and is a member of the Womens Basketball Team and his son is currently in Grade 12 and his looking to pursuing a football scholarship at the post-secondary level. Anders is so excited to be a part of the Prep Academy team and looks forward to helping support students in their educational journey.
Kate T.
Kate is qualified in Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions. Kate has an undergraduate degree from Trent University (2018) in English Literature, with emphasis in Education and Linguistics. She has recently completed ABQ’s in Intermediate Physical Education and Senior FNMI Studies. Kate completed Special Education Part 1 after graduating from her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in 2021. Kate understands the importance of communication with guardians throughout the year to ensure the well-being and success of their child. She is sensitive to the learning and social needs of students and strives to ensure each student feels included within the classroom.
Andrea S.
Andrea has a great passion for teaching and has worked as a full-time teacher for 27 years with the Toronto District School Board. She has her primary, junior and intermediate qualifications but she has taught Grade 9 as well. She has taught all subjects (with French as the exception) and learning skills. She has a specialist in Special Education and has spent the majority of her career in this area. She currently teaches in a Grade 6 Gifted Core Program in North York. Andrea has many interests outside of teaching that include: paper crafting, arts & crafts, reading, sailing, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
Samantha Q.
Samantha Q. is a dedicated educator. She holds a degree in Education and Child Development. Samantha has spent many years working with kids, from infants to teenagers, in various settings, including childcare, swimming lessons, and youth programs on a cruise ship.
Over the last year, Samantha taught in Stockholm, Sweden science and technology to 4th to 6th graders, showing her knack for making learning fun. Currently, she’s part of an independent school, where she continues to inspire young minds.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys playing ice hockey and recently joined a volleyball team. She’s passionate about helping children achieve their best. Her goal is to provide the support and encouragement they need to succeed.
Natalya C.
Natalya has an Honours Specialist degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education with senior qualifications in Mathematics and Chemistry from OISE. Natalya also holds additional qualifications in Special Education. Natalya has been teaching for over 17 years with the Toronto District School board and has taught a wide variety of Mathematics and Science courses. She is passionate about teaching and creating an environment that inspires and promotes student success.
