Rebecca H.

Rebecca H. is currently completing the Ontario Certified Teacher Program in the Master of Teaching Program (Primary/Junior Division) at OISE, University of Toronto. She also holds a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from Brock University.
With over five years of experience teaching and working in Ontario’s public and private elementary and high schools, such as TDSB, YCDSB and TCDSB, Rebecca is committed to creating inclusive classrooms where every student feels valued and supported. With extensive experience as both a tutor and an instructor, Caleb has worked in various settings, including one-on-one, group, in-person, and virtual formats. His most recent role involved delivering ESL courses alongside Science and Math instruction to international students, demonstrating his versatility and cultural adaptability. Furthermore, Caleb is highly proficient in online teaching, utilizing digital platforms to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Rita J.

Rita has a strong academic background and extensive experience in education. With a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science and over five years of experience in tutoring, Rita has a passion for empowering students to reach their academic potential.

Specializing in teaching Mandarin, Grades 2 to 8 Science and Math and Grade 11 Functions, Rita combines expertise in subject matter with a personalized approach to instruction. She aims to make challenging concepts more accessible and help students build confidence in their abilities.

Rita has a proven track record of success, guiding students to improve their grades and develop critical problem-solving skills. Grace H.

Grace graduated from South China University of Technology, one of the most renowned universities in China, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering . Since her graduation, Grace has been a passionate tutor for over 20 years. She is very familiar with the Ontario curriculum and is keen on sharing her knowledge and learning methods with young generations. In working one-on-one with students in Ontario over the past 15 years, Grace has taught in both the AP and IB streams. Grace develops rapport with students at their pace, clearly explains the concepts and formulas, and nurtures students for critical thinking and analytical skills. Grace tutors math at all levels up to first year university, into addition to G11 & G12 Physics. She is always punctual and committed to her tutoring work.

Jacqueline B.

Jacqueline B. is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years of experience in education, having worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8. She currently teaches in a Kindergarten classroom within the York Region District School Board. Jacquie’s teaching and tutoring are guided by the Ontario Elementary School curriculum expectations, ensuring that each lesson is aligned with the province’s educational standards.

Having previously worked as an elementary remedial reading tutor, Jacquie possesses a deep understanding of various reading programs offered across Ontario. Many of her students have demonstrated significant growth, increased understanding, and boosted confidence as a result of her dedicated support.

Emmanuel A.

Emmanuel has a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics, a PhD in Reproductive Physiology and Toxicology, and a Master’s degree in Education. Before coming to Canada, he worked, for more than 10 years, as a Biology, Biochemistry, and Environmental management teacher for curricular subjects and to prepare students for the international IGCSE and IB Cambridge exams. In Canada he obtained a Diploma in Advanced Biotechnology and worked as a Research Technician at Sunnybrook Hospital, assisting in the development of psychomotor recovery techniques. He is now working as a tutor.

Emmanuel likes to approach his learning methodology through critical thinking, using everyday situations to explain the physicochemical and biological processes that surround us. He encourages students to be proactive and direct participants in their education, by using the information they have and know, as a basis and pillar for their learning process.

In his free time, he likes to play the guitar, play board games and video games with his family, and travel around Ontario.

Suba T.

Suba has over 8 years of tutoring experience, including 2 years teaching the Ontario curriculum and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in physics and mathematics. With a strong academic background in structural engineering, Suba is currently conducting advanced research at York University, focusing on innovative topics like 3D-printed concrete structures and Structural Health Monitoring. Their work bridges theoretical analysis and real-world applications, reflecting a commitment to advancing engineering knowledge.

Suba specializes in teaching high school physics, mathematics, and engineering-related subjects. Johanna D. F.

Johanna is thrilled to be joining the Prep Academy Tutors team. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she brings a strong background in French language and literature education. She began teaching French at the elementary level before starting to teach courses at the University of Toronto (where she completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in French literature), at Mount Allison University, and at York University.

Johanna’s passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom, as she is also an active researcher in the field of teaching and learning. She has presented at national and international conferences on topics such as language acquisition, experiential and task-based learning, technology-enhanced learning, and digital gaming in language learning. She also led workshops focused on using technology to motivate and engage students, particularly in language learning.

In the classroom, Johanna emphasizes active learning through communicative tasks and projects, while also reinforcing the importance of grammar and language structure for mastery. As a tutor, she tailors instruction to students’ individual needs through targeted exercises and a variety of proven teaching methodologies. Whether through traditional grammar drills, reading exercises, or informal conversation, her goal is to help students build confidence and successfully advance on their learning journey.
