Shan T.

Shan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, where he double majored in Population Health and Psychology. With a solid understanding of both science and human behavior, he enjoys helping students understand complex topics in a way that makes sense to them.

Having worked with students from elementary to high school, Shan knows how to break down lessons into easy-to-understand steps. He is patient, supportive, and always encourages students to ask questions and stay curious. His goal is to help students feel confident and capable in their studies.

When he’s not tutoring, Shan enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He values these moments and believes in the importance of a good work-life balance.

 

 

Payman J.

Payman has a Ph.D. in Tectonophysics from the University of Toronto, a 1st class honour bachelor’s degree in Geophysics from the University of Calgary, a Master of Science in Medical Physics, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics.

His Ph.D. research was on improving earthquake detection using computer vision algorithms. He has over 20 years of teaching experience in the science, engineering, and environmental fields and currently teaches at Humber, Mohawk, and Sheridan Colleges. He has also worked in the industry as a data scientist, but his passion is teaching. Payman’s teaching style focuses on developing intellectual confidence in his students by guiding them through systematic problem-solving approaches.

He is an avid road cyclist and mountain biker, has raced ultra marathons for 14 years in Canada and Europe, and is a former climber.

 

Amir M.

Amir is a passionate educator with extensive experience tutoring high school, university, and MCAT sciences, including biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as mathematics courses such as advanced functions and calculus. With a strong academic background in biomedical sciences and a 3.96 GPA from Toronto Metropolitan University, he excels at breaking down complex scientific and mathematical concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand lessons. Amir has worked with students from diverse backgrounds, designing personalized study plans, practice exams, and interactive sessions tailored to individual learning styles. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and building confidence, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in both the sciences and mathematics. Fluent in English and Farsi, Amir is dedicated to creating a supportive and motivating learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys powerlifting, exploring new research topics, and mentoring students to help them achieve their academic and career goals.

 

 

Rebecca W.

Rebecca W. is a dedicated and experienced professional with a diverse background in teaching, administration, and management. She has a passion for education and has taught English and Business English to students of all ages and levels, from beginners to top executives.

In addition to her teaching experience, Rebecca has also held a variety of administrative and management positions. She is a skilled communicator and organizer, and she is committed to providing excellent service to her clients and students.

Outside of her professional life, Rebecca is an active volunteer in her community. She is the founder and former head coach of the first Lake of Bays Children’s Soccer team, and she is also a former member of the Board of Directors for the Muskoka/Parry Sound Rape Crisis Centre. Rebecca recently received her Level One Ski Instructor Certification and is currently ski instructing on weekends. Rebecca believes that physical activity is important for education and well-being, which is why she stays active and is involved in many different sports.

 

Arthur P.

Arthur is a Teacher Candidate at York University’s Faculty of Education with History and Instrumental Music as his specializations. At the University of Toronto he completed both a Bachelor of Arts with History and Anthropology as his majors, as well as a Bachelor of Music majoring in Music Education.

Arthur has been tutoring in various subjects ranging from History to Music to Essay Writing for over 6 years now and has also shared his love of learning and teaching with youth of all ages as a summer camp counselor. He is also a lifelong learner, completing courses in TEFL certification, as well as courses to teach CELPIP and IELTS specific test preparation.

Arthur believes in building strong relationships with students in order to support them to do their best. This means getting to know a student both as learner to develop the best learning strategies for them, but also as a person to help them enjoy and feel excited about the learning process.

Outside of work you can usually find Arthur going on a hike, learning a new instrument, studying Korean, or just hanging out with his two cats Beanie and Taavi.

 

 

Francesca S.

Francesca S. graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from York University and received her Bachelor of Education degree from York University as well. Francesca’s areas of specialty include the Intermediate/Senior divisions, but she has ample experience teaching in the Primary and Junior divisions as well.

Fully trilingual, Francesca has extensive experience working with students at most grade levels of core French, specifically, Primary to Intermediate.

Francesca inspires and motivates her students with her patience and support. She believes there is a solution to every obstacle. As a dedicated teacher, Francesca finds fulfillment in witnessing her students’ progress and success.
She utilizes numerous engaging and varied teaching strategies and resources that are reflective of the different interests and learning styles of the students. Moreover, Francesca maintains open communication with parents, providing regular feedback and next steps on their child’s progress.

Charlie M.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University and currently pursuing a Master of Teaching degree at OISE, Charlie is deeply committed to guiding students toward academic achievement. His focus lies in secondary math and physics, where he has developed a strong foundation in tutoring that enhances his teaching approach.

Charlie believes in the power of personalized instruction and strive to simplify complex concepts through varied methods of explanation and visualization. His goal is to empower students by instilling effective study techniques and fostering metacognitive skills that promote independent learning and lasting success.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Charlie is dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing educational environment that incorporate diversity and supports every learner’s unique journey.

Hanieh R.

Dr. Hanieh Rezaee is an experienced Chemistry and Biology teacher with over three years of teaching and tutoring experience in Canada and abroad. She currently teaches Science, Biology, and Biochemistry at Alpha High School and Discovery High School in Richmond Hill, where she delivers Ontario Curriculum–aligned lessons for Grades 9–12. She also prepares students for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, EQAO, and SAT Subject Tests.
With a Ph.D. in Medical Biotechnology, an M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology, and a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science, Dr. Rezaee brings both academic expertise and research experience into her classrooms. She has taught and mentored learners at both the high school and university levels, consistently improving student outcomes through interactive lessons, virtual labs, simulations, and real-world applications of science.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and personalized learning. By integrating multimedia tools and hands-on activities, she has helped students increase comprehension and engagement, while also mentoring participants in science fairs and outreach programs.Fluent in English, Persian, and conversational Turkish, Dr. Rezaee has worked extensively with diverse student populations, supporting learners in both academic success and smooth transitions into the Canadian education system.She is passionate about inspiring curiosity in science and guiding students to see its connection to everyday life and future careers in STEM.

Stephanie S.

Stephanie has been teaching for 30 years. She has a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and is qualified to teach secondary school English, Visual Art and Drama, as well as all Primary subjects. She is also a qualified Guidance counsellor, and has her level 1 Principals’ Qualification. Stephanie has taught in Toronto, South America and England. She is very experienced working with children and young adults with a wide range of barriers to learning, including ASD, ADHD, specific learning difficulties, ESL, depression and anxiety.

Stephanie believes that every child has the potential for deep and meaningful learning. As a tutor, she tailors her lessons to her students’ interests, creating engaging lessons that help them overcome their academic challenges while meeting curriculum expectations. With her extensive teaching experience, she provides clear guidance on school assignments, helping students understand complex material and develop strong organizational and communication skills. She has particular expertise in teaching grammar. She is able to integrate art and technology into her instruction to enhance engagement and deepen comprehension.

Along with building skills, Stephanie works at boosting students’ self esteem and helping them to see and believe in their ability to be successful.

With over five years of experience teaching and working in Ontario’s public and private elementary and high schools, such as TDSB, YCDSB and TCDSB, Rebecca is committed to creating inclusive classrooms where every student feels valued and supported. She specializes in Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, ensuring her teaching reflects and respects the diverse cultural backgrounds of her students. Skilled in differentiated instruction, Rebecca tailors her lessons to meet the needs of all learners, making education accessible and engaging.
