Zahra S.
With a passion for the science and chemistry and over 10 years of teaching experience at secondary and post-secondary levels, Zahra brings a wealth of knowledge to the learning sessions. Zahra holds PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universite Laval in Quebec, author of numerous research publications, recipient of Vanier Graduate Scholarship provided by NSERC and is currently in the last year of Teaching Education Program at Brock University becoming Ontario Certified Teacher soon. She has significant experience in teaching chemistry at very high level of satisfaction reported by her students for both regular Ontario curriculum and IB and AP programs. She has been working with students of varying age and background both in public and private systems in Ontario. She works to accommodate all with differentiated instruction based on individual’s needs and preferences in an equitable and responsive environment. Her teaching philosophy centers on making chemistry accessible and exciting for all students, fostering both academic growth and curiosity. She has also catered various students for chemistry and science tutoring in one-in one based on each student’s need. She is a dedicated teacher helping students foster their self-confidence and learning potential to reach high academic achievement and ownership of their learning.
Edi C.
Edi’s individualized approach encourages students to build confidence and achieve their academic potential. She has a degree in Honours Environmental Studies with Distinction. She excelled throughout her undergrad receiving recognition on the Dean’s Honour Role for each year of University and the Academic All Canadian Award for exceptional Academic Achievement while playing Varsity Lacrosse.
She has experience working as a Lead Outdoor Educator, an instructional assistant for a University Environmental Studies course, Coaching Lacrosse and facilitating English practice as a Tandem Language Partner. This passion for teaching and helping students has led to her current pursuit of a Bachelor of Education Degree at York University with Teachables in Biology and Geography. As part of her degree, Edi volunteers in a resource room helping high school students with all subjects including Math.
Prior to her pursuit of teaching, she utilized her skills in biology and environmental studies while she worked as a research assistant for the Health and Wellbeing Chapter of the 2022 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report.

Katherine is enthusiastic teacher with French qualifications, adept at coordinating and implementing effective lessons and student activities to enhance education, and personal development. Katherine has her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies, and her Bachelor of Education. She is qualified to teach K-12.
Allison G.
Allison is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy at the University of Toronto. She recently completed her Concurrent Education degree at Queen’s University, specializing in Geography and English, with a focus on Indigenous Education. Certified by the OCT, Allison brings a wealth of experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, particularly in grades 5-12. Allison is able to teach all subjects at the grade 5-8 levels, and English and Geography at the high school level. Allison is deeply committed to creating safe, inclusive learning spaces where students of all backgrounds feel valued and respected. With a holistic approach to teaching, Allison strives to support students mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence and achieve their goals. Outside of the classroom, you’ll find her hiking, travelling, reading, playing sports, or enjoying quality time with her family.
Nassim M.
Nasim holds a Master’s degree in Science with a specialization in Mathematics and Statistics from McMaster University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, focusing on Mathematics. She is qualified to teach at the primary and intermediate levels, from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8, and possesses additional qualifications in Special Needs education. With approximately 15 years of extensive experience in teaching and tutoring, she has worked with students in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), both in public schools and Montessori settings. Furthermore, she has three years of international teaching experience at prestigious international schools.
Nasim is committed to fostering an environment of mutual respect, creativity, and individuality. She prioritizes student advocacy and strives to build meaningful, long-lasting connections with her students. She firmly believes that every student is capable of learning, recognizing that each individual possesses unique learning styles and abilities. Lauren L.
Lauren is a Teacher Candidate in the Master of Arts – Child Study and Education program at the University of Toronto OISE. She pursued an Honours Bachelors of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences from McMaster University with a Minor in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Minor of Sustainability.
Lauren has a keen interest in supporting children and youth, sustainability, community-based work, and advocacy. Much of her volunteer and work experiences reflect these passions, as they are centered around children and youth. She has also worked as the director of a summer camp for several years, and as an ELL tutor and peer mentor.
Lauren firmly believes that care and understanding are fundamental in helping students succeed. As such she works to build strong relationships with her students, gaining a deeper understanding of their unique abilities and learning needs. She challenges students while finding novel ways to meet each child where they are at in their learning journey. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys snowboarding, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
Gillian M.
With over 25 years’ experience in independent schools, as both a teacher and an administrator, Gillian brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her role at Prep Academy Tutors. Gillian’s particular passions include expertise in Senior English (Grade 11, 12, and AP), and coaching students in university prep and executive functioning and organizational skills.
As a classroom teacher with a Masters Degree in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Gillian knows the balance of patience and personalization necessary to reach and ignite every student. She excels at building trust through warmth, humour, and friendly advice, all while nurturing students to build the executive functioning skills they’ll need to be able to define their own success, and strive for happiness.
In her roles as a school leader, serving as Vice Principal at Trafalgar Castle School, and Head of Senior School at Havergal College, Gillian has spent countless hours guiding families through the challenges of supporting young people in a complicated world, helping students set goals, find balance, and thrive–both at school, and beyond.

Vincent L.
Vincent is a graduate from the University of Waterloo who obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Biology. He is currently enrolled in the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology dual program at the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute, pursuing to become a medical radiation technologist.
Vincent is well-versed in tutoring math and sciences at the high school and first year university level, with private tutoring experience spanning over 6 years. He was enrolled in a peer-tutoring program to ensure that he understands the needs of his students and strives to see them succeed. He worked with numerous grade 12 students to ensure that their transition to post-secondary went smoothly.
He is very compassionate when it comes to teaching, he understands that everyone has their own learning style and learns at their own pace. Vincent shows dedication and commitment to student education, making him a competent and caring educator.
Melissa H.
Melissa holds a Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology from the University of Toronto, where she developed a strong foundation in biomedical sciences. She recently furthered her education by pursuing a Master of Public Health at New York University, where she concentrated in epidemiology. Graduating with a 4.0 GPA and an award for thesis excellence, Melissa demonstrated her dedication to academic rigor and her ability to excel in complex scientific subjects.
With over two years of experience as a math and science tutor, Melissa has worked with students ranging from elementary to undergraduate levels, helping them strengthen their comprehension of STEM-related courses and reach their full academic potential. Her teaching approach is characterized by clarity, patience, kindness, and a desire to make learning fun! During her graduate studies, Melissa also served as a course assistant, hosting weekly office hours and delivering frequent guest lectures. These experiences have refined her ability to teach complex topics and provide the tools necessary for academic success.
Melissa currently works in clinical research at The Hospital for Sick Children, where she contributes to advancements in the field of chronic disease. Jimmy D.
An educator with over 14 years of teaching experience with a profound passion for empowering minds. Jimmy has taught with Ontario public school boards since 2011. He also has experience teaching overseas in South Korea and Taiwan.
Jimmy has a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Toronto Metropolitan University, on top of his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from York University. He is also a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers, and has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.
In his free time, Jimmy is very active and spends his time playing soccer, baseball, and hockey (depending on the seasons).
