Mr. Ritter has a Masters in Teaching & Learning from McGill University to go along with his Biology & Sciences background. Teaching has been a career change for Mr. Ritter, and so he also comes with lots of life experiences, which helps him relate and connect to students and the course material. Mr. Ritter certainly has a love for learning and specifically a passion for the sciences, which he strives to instill into his students.

Makenzi Mellon is professional, positive, and engaging Teacher Candidate with 4+ years of experience working in a variety of unique educational settings. Makenzi’s philosophy focuses on inclusivity and differentiated instruction within the classroom in a way that allows her students to be successful. Makenzi graduated my Bachelor’s of Education in July from Queen’s University and plans on tutoring this year to expand her portfolio before entering the teaching workforce!

Brooke has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Youth Studies (Honours), along with a First Class standing. Brooke travelled abroad and studied at Cardiff Metropolitain University in Wales, UK to undertake the PGCE Primary program. The cross-curricular experience has allowed Brooke to strengthen her teaching philosophy and become a qualified teacher. Currently, Brooke is working with a school board as a Supply Teacher.

Francesca is enrolled in the Concurrent Education program at Brock University and has over a year of tutoring experience with a variety of ages via in-person and online platforms. She is working towards teachables in English and Geography, implementing her passion for learning during tutoring sessions, and develops individualized methods that best suit her students’ learning styles. Lori M.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Lori earned an undergraduate degree in English and History as well as Master’s degree in Child Study and Education. She has been employed as a high school teacher for over 10 years and possesses certification to teach at the primary, junior, intermediate and senior levels from the Ontario College of Teachers (#615329). Additionally, she has taught graduate students at the University of Toronto, as well as an additional qualification course to teachers. She has completed numerous additional qualification courses and is qualified to teach a range of subjects, namely: English, Mathematics, Special Education, History, Religious Education, and Health and Physical Education. She specializes in English and has helped write two courses, as well as an Ontario Teacher-Student Literacy Resource that contains strategies and lessons that equip students with the literacy skills requisite to pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. She also loves working with students with exceptionalities and has a penchant for mathematics education. She is very personable and believes that all students are relational learners capable of thriving when paired with a nurturing and experienced educator who meets students where they are and intelligently scaffolds their progress

Meaghan incorporates nature and physical activity into daily life, both in a personal and professional setting. Her strong ability to work well in dynamic team environments is demonstrated through years of participation within successful sports and academic teams.
JORDAN S.
Jordan holds a Ph.D. In English Literature from McMaster University with a specialization in Environmental Studies and Cultural Studies of Science. Over the past eight years, he has taught postsecondary courses on academic writing, critical reading and writing, cultural studies, and environmental studies at McMaster University, New York University, and CUNY Queens College. He has considerable experience advising and working with students applying to undergraduate and graduate programs both in Canada and the United States.
Jordan tutors students of all ages with an emphasis on senior literacy, remedial assistance, advanced learning, and college/university preparation. He is a flexible and approachable teacher who is passionate about reading and writing.
By utilizing inclusive teaching practices and interactive lessons, Jordan creates a fun and collaborative learning environment where students feel comfortable enough to express themselves and explore different ways of thinking. He builds individualized lessons for each student with specific academic strategies and learning goals catered to their learning needs. His lessons involve rigorous assessments of a student’s strengths and weaknesses and aim to build self-confidence.
Jordan is an avid cyclist and “bike-packer” and spends most of his time either on his bike exploring or reading with one of his three cats!
