Lindsay H.
Lindsay graduated from the Concurrent Education program at Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education in the primary and junior divisions. Since then, she has obtained additional qualifications to teach Intermediate English, Special Education and English as a Second Language.
Lindsay not only has experience in Canadian classrooms, but has also taught and tutored in Namibia, Peru and China. She has a great deal of experience teaching English, both as a first and a second language, as well as mathematics and science.
Lindsay uses her passion and enthusiasm towards teaching and learning to always establish a positive learning environment with her students. She believes an environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are respected is one that will promote success in each child’s learning. Lindsay recognizes that learning is an individual process and thus works hard to tailor her instruction to use each student’s strengths in order to address their needs.
Lindsay has a passion for working with children both inside and outside the classroom. She spends her spare time coaching children’s soccer as well as volunteering in special education settings within her local school board.
James A.
James is a York University Teacher Candidate pursuing his qualifications at the Primary/Junior level. James has experience in Kindergarten, grade 3, and grade 5 classrooms. In addition to pursuing an Education degree, James is also completing an Honours BA in Professional Writing. His specialties include teaching reading and writing, with an emphasis on helping students to express themselves clearly. Additionally, having completed the French Immersion program throughout elementary and high school, James can assist students in struggles they may encounter with French. James’ teaching philosophy insists that students must be actively engaged and invested in their learning in order for it to truly benefit them. James is a passionate Tennis teacher who has worked at several clubs in Oakville for the past 7 years. He also has a love for music and plays multiple instruments. James believes in creating a fun and comfortable learning environment for students.
Rosemary M.
I am an Ontario qualified and certified teacher of modern languages. I have 35 years of experience teaching modern languages, primarily French and some years of Spanish as well. I have taught all secondary grades of core French at both the applied and academic levels. I have been recently involved in the implementation of the revised Ontario curriculum for French, 2014, and I am thoroughly familiar with its vision and goals. Also, I have mentored many student teachers of languages over the last several years. I believe that promoting and assisting students to reach their full potential in all the disciplines of the Ontario curriculum is an important goal of the educator.
Rebecca S.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization in Geology. After Rebecca went to teachers college at Niagara University Primary Junior program. In addition Rebecca has completed two ABQs in Intermediate and Senior Science, as well as Math Part I AQ. Mathematics and Science are subjects that Rebecca has thoroughly enjoyed throughout her school years, and would like to pass on that passion to her students. She enjoys the challenge of working through the process of Mathematical problems. As well the understanding that Science is all around us, with everything we do and touch.
