Alexane P.
Alexane graduated from Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education and a double minor in French and History. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree at the University of Ottawa in the Bachelor of Education program. Alexane enjoys the field of education as it provides her with the opportunity to introduce students to the exciting and motivating side of learning. Her positive energy is contagious and students of all ages adore her.
Alexane’s second love is hockey. She played four years of varsity hockey while completing her bachelor program at Nipissing University and when she is not in the classroom or tutoring, you will find her at the rink!
Melanie D.
Melanie attended the University of Ottawa to pursue her two degrees, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 2011, and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in 2014. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) who is qualified in the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate divisions (grades 1-10). For the past three years Melanie taught all homeroom subjects full-time in a Grade 4 class, and is currently teaching Grade 6 Math and Science, and Grade 7 Language Arts, History and Geography.
Melanie frequently seeks professional development in order to be able to meet the needs of Ottawa’s diverse student body. She has obtained Additional Qualifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language, Reading, and Assessment and Evaluation. These online courses allow her to engage with a global community of teaching professionals, expanding her repertoire of best practices and putting her in touch with the latest and greatest resources. Her next steps include acquiring certification in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program through the University of Windsor.
With this tutor, you can expect one-on-one support which focuses not only on content, but also the development of metacognitive skills (e.g.
planning/processing/organization) which encourages students to become more independent, lifelong learners.
Melissa B.
Well known for her work ethic, collaboration and leadership skills, as well as her passion for the French language and its cultures, Melissa is committed to providing a positive learning experience for each one of her students. Over the last five years, Melissa has gained substantial teaching experiences while working with students from Kindergarten to grade six as an educator in a francophone elementary school environment (CECCE), as well as with the OCDSB. She has completed her Bachelor of Education in the primary division at the University of Ottawa, as well as an additional qualification in French as a Second Language, and is currently completing a Master of Education in French. Melissa’s teaching philosophy focuses on student motivation and success through an innovative, safe and inclusive learning environment, therefore encouraging students to learn without fear of failure.
Gabrielle A.
From the most northern town accessible by road in Ontario, Gabrielle was born and raised in Hearst. This is a small community of 5000 residents where 90% of them are francophone. In Hearst, she became a lifeguard and swim instructor and continued this passion for the next 6 years.
Gabrielle graduated form the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Linguistics. She is now completing her Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa (Primary/Junior specialization). Gabrielle is fluent in both French and English and will use all of her proven techniques to help your child create his own tricks to be successful.
Martha V.
Martha attended the University of Ottawa, completing a Bachelor an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a Minor is Geology. During this time, Martha tutored high school Math, Science and French. Martha also completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa, specializing in teaching Intermediate/Senior Math and Geography. She has had in-class teaching experience with grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 Math, grade 9 Geography, and in the Resource classroom. Martha also assisted with grade 9 EQAO preparation. Martha is able to tutor grades 6-12 Mathematics, grades 7-10 Science and French.
Outside of the classroom, Martha enjoys going for runs with her dog, hiking and playing soccer.
JOSÉE J.
Josée comes from a French-Canadian family and was born and raised in Ottawa-East. She received her undergraduate degree in French and Math from University of Ottawa, which included a 6 month exchange to a University in Belgium. She graduated from the Faculty of Education at University of Ottawa in 2015, and has taught in the French Public School board in Ottawa (CEPEO) since then. When Josée is not in the classroom, she is usually traveling, camping, reading a good book or spending time with family and friends.
Charly K.
Charly est un enseignant très apprécié qui travaille dans la région d’Ottawa pour les écoles publiques et catholiques. Diplômé de l’université d’Ottawa avec un baccalauréat en éducation et enseignement, il dispose d’une expérience de 3 ans dans ce domaine en tant que moniteur de français et tuteur).
Charly est reconnu pour ses qualités relationnelles, qui lui ont toujours permis de tisser des liens forts avec les équipes pédagogiques, les élèves qu’il encadre ainsi que leurs parents. Sa maîtrise du français, comme langue maternelle, ainsi que son haut niveau d’éducation (Maîtrise en communication, obtenue en France à l’université de Montpellier), lui confèrent une grande habileté à transmettre ses connaissances et son amour de la langue française à tous ceux et celles qui en auraient besoin.
Charly vous proposera des activités sur mesure, à la fois pédagogiques et ludiques qui vous ferons apprécier la langue française et améliorer son usage au quotidien. Passionné de Beatbox (activité très apprécié par les enfants) et de musique, chaleureux et extraverti, il sait se servir de sa bonne humeur et de différentes stratégies innovantes pour renforcer le niveau des enfants en français: en lecture, écriture et communication orale.
Caitlin M.
After finishing her degree at Acadia University, Caitlin graduated from Western University with her Bachelor of Education specializing in early childhood education. She is qualified in teaching all ages in Elementary school in the subjects of Math, Science, Social studies and English.
When she is not with her students, she spends her time outside enjoying a variety of sports and recreational activities. She enjoys playing hockey, volleyball and is an avid runner. She also loves to explore and spend time with her family!
Maria D.
Maria is a creative, dynamic, and engaging young tutor.
Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Maria moved to Ottawa in 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and went on to pursue her Master’s degree in English Literature on full scholarship at Carleton University. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Education at the University of Ottawa. Maria has extensive experience in the field of Education. She worked as an Educational Assistant with the Vancouver Catholic School Board for over five years and was a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University for two years. She has a great deal of experience tutoring students of all ages. Her experience coaching youth sports further adds to her understandings of youth needs, both in and out of the classroom.

Maria, learning is a lifelong endeavour that must be nurtured with curiosity and fun. Maria strives to make students feel safe, valuable, and important. As such, her teaching style works to accommodate all learning needs, exceptionalities, and abilities.
AURÉLIE D.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Aurélie grew up in a francophone household. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in History. She is presently completing her teaching degree, specializing in the Primary/Junior grade levels at the University of Ottawa. She discovered her passion for teaching while working several years in after school programs with elementary children. It was then that Aurélie realized she wanted to contribute to the education and enrichment of our future generation. She understands that every student is unique and has their own way of learning. Aurélie believes in empowering children by encouraging them to learn without being afraid of taking risks. She’s passionate about learning, patient with others and contagiously effervescent!
