They graduated from York University with an MA in critical psychology, their thesis focusing on accessibility in undergraduate education.

Zoë’s passion is teaching and learning, and they have expertise in a variety of subjects. Most notably, they have been an SAT tutor for over ten years — tutoring 1-1, teaching intensive courses, designing lesson plans and curricula, training other instructors, and even writing an SAT Teacher’s Manual, which was sold to various test prep and tutoring companies, and which they still update yearly for personal use.

Zoë’s teaching style is reflexive, engaging, agile, and learner-centred, informed by their extensive knowledge of psychology and pedagogy, and enriched by their confidence in every student’s ability to succeed when given the right tools.

Donovan E.

Hello! My name is Donovan E. and I am excited to meet you. I recently moved to Miami from Houston, TX to continue my training in medicine. Aside from tutoring, I’m looking to see if the tacos here compare to back home so I will be accepting all recommendations. When I’m not enjoying local eateries, enjoying and playing music, and studying, you can find me continuing my passion for helping young minds master their skills in Math and Science. I have a love for these subjects and I truly enjoy helping students no matter where they are in their journey. Be it aiming to raise a grade or getting over the hump to truly master one of my listed subjects, I am confident that decade-plus experience as a private tutor will prove helpful on your journey. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and working with you.

STEPHANIE C.

Dr. Stephanie J. Cork has over ten years of university-level teaching, college preparation and academic coaching. She is an internationally trained educator and native Torontonian. Stephanie recently returned to Canada after completing her Doctorate at the University of Maryland, College Park in the School of Public Health, obtaining graduate certificates in English and Women’s Studies. Stephanie previously completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Sociology at Queen’s University. During her time in graduate school at Queen’s and Maryland Stephanie was a teaching assistant for Sociology, Kinesiology and Public Health courses. She therefore specializes in social studies at the intermediate, and senior level and is very excited to mentor students through the college admissions process; finding a university that will help them reach their personal and professional goals.

Stephanie centers accessibility, flexibility and compassion in her teaching, and has been a vocal advocate for diversity, inclusion, equity and disability justice. This was honed through the University of Maryland’s University Teaching and Learning Program. Through participating in this multi-year training program Stephanie developed expertise in pedagogy – the method and practice of teaching – including Universal Design for Instruction. This means that she will ensure your student has the tools they need to succeed both within and beyond the classroom. Stephanie believes that strong mentorship can help build an unshakable foundation for excellence. She prioritizes the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills, growing students’ confidence and self-efficacy, ensuring academic success.

Stephanie is intrepid, outdoorsy, and loves to swim, canoe and kayak. The longest canoe trip she ever took was (only) thirty-six days. While she enjoys being out in the woods she also loves her home in Toronto, where you can find her relaxing by the pool with either of her two dogs Kella and Saga.
