Preeti Sadana Has a Bachelors degree in Physics and Education. Her Teachable subjects are Math and Science. She is teaching Science from Grade 4 to 9 at present in a Private school. She has a good knowledge of Ontario curriculum. She has recently done Senior Math AQ from Queen’s University.
She has a loving husband and two daughters who keep he engaged and busy all the time.

 

Nicole P.

Nicole has a passion for educating beyond traditional methods of teaching as she seeks to build confidence and real-life connections with each individual learner. She holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching and is qualified to teach both History and English. This has deemed her knowledgeable in all aspects regarding literacy which include essay writing and reading comprehension strategies, while promoting critical thinking. Nicole aims to ensure all students feel comfortable and confident in curriculum content as well as their own understandings of their learning in pursuits of not only academic success, but the overall well being of the individual learner. Her experiences as both a student and teacher have contributed to her understanding that each learner has individual needs, and ways of thinking. Approaching each learner with empathy and compassion is critical to her pedagogy.

 

Samantha M.

Samantha recently graduated this Spring 2021 from Brock University’s Concurrent Education program, receiving her Bachelors of Child and Youth Studies, alongside her Bachelor of Education. During her time at Brock, she volunteered with the Learning Disabilities Association of Niagara with their reading r.o.c.k.s program. She also interned with the Brock Learning Lab, tutoring primary/junior students. Samantha has spent the past five summers working in Muskoka at a day camp. She began as a camp counsellor and worked her way up to camp director by her third summer.

Samantha will begin supply teaching with both the Peel District School Board and the Waterloo District School Board this fall. She has spent this summer working on her professional development. She attained her additional qualifications in Special Education: Part 1 and Kindergarten: Part 1 and plans to continue her professional development this upcoming year. She is passionate about making sure students feel safe, included, valued and respected in her classroom. As someone with ADHD, she brings a unique perspective to understanding the importance of differentiated learning and making sure that each child’s individual needs are met.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She likes snowboarding during the winters and spending her summers outdoors up north. She feels passionately about mental health and wellness and actively seeks out new ways to improve her overall health and happiness.

 

Nicole F.

Nicole graduated from York University in 2021, with her Bachelor Degree in Children’s Studies and a Bachelor of Education primary/junior. Nicole has immense experience in working with various children of various communities and has experience in working with children in the spectrum, such as; ADHD, autism and behavioural exceptionalities. Nicole is very familiar in working with various modes of technologies and using different technological programs that are available for students such as Lexia and Prodigy. Nicole, was raised in Etobicoke and is very involved in the community and the Portuguese community as well. After taking Portuguese at York University she then received the opportunity to teach both virtually and in-person for the Toronto Catholic District School Board’s Portuguese, International Language program and has learned to meet students needs both in person and online.

Nicole’s passion in teaching began when she was a young girl and she would ask her cousins and friends to be her students as she “taught” class. Nicole has come from a family of educators and has learned the importance of assisting others and meeting other needs through them. On Nicole’s free time she loves to cook, swim, and spend time with her puppies and family. She is very family oriented and truly enjoys taking care of her elderly grandparents. Nicole is very passionate about working with children and assisting children surpass their barriers and exceed their expectations

Christine L.

Christine J. Loh, PMP, ISTQB certified and is a Manager of Data Science at a tech start-up. A former national mathematics contest competitor from Toronto, Ontario, she earned her bachelors from the University of Toronto. Her students come from a diverse background and needs (AP/IB/remedial/SAT/SSAT/PSAT/GMAT/competitions ie. Caribou, Canadian Math League, Waterloo contests, Kangaroo, Beaver etc) She collaborates with parents, tutoring companies, consultants, and organizations to promote mathematics excellence and equity for young people. Her students have gained interviews to the University of Toronto Schools, scored in the top 2-15% of admission tests, top 7-30% of worldwide/national math contests. top 7% in Ontario, and top 10% in Peel District School Board. Christine has been recognized as the Tutor of the Month, for her efforts. She has also published an article in “Authority Magazine” entitled “5 Things You Need To Know To Be A Highly Effective Educator”. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, chess, travelling, and playing the violin.

Andrea P.

Andrea is a teacher for the Toronto District School Board. In her last five years with the board, she has specialized in teaching French, as well as Language. She has special qualifications courses in French as well as English as Second Language. Andrea has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She attended the University of Ottawa for her undergraduate degree, where she minored in French as a Second Language.

 

Edison O.

Edison Osorio is a certified teacher by the Ontario College of Teachers. He currently teaches a grade 7/8 split French Immersion class at Rockcliffe Middle School.

 Edison was born in Colombia in the mid 80’s. Before establishing himself self as an elementary school teacher in Toronto. He also had the chance to live in Florence, Italy, New York, and Montreal. As a result, he is now highly proficient in his native Spanish tongue as well in English and French. 

He holds a Master of Teaching degree from OISE since 2015, and completed his undergraduate studies at OCAD University in 2012. For the last five years, he has been teaching in the Toronto District School Board – grades 1-8. This includes all of the study subjects as well as ample experience in teaching Core French and French Immersion programs. 

During his studies at OISE, Edison had the chance to complete a practicum at The York School, which allowed him to gain experience teaching in a private school setting. His teaching experience also includes tutoring students in grades 4-12 and leading after-school programs.

 Edison is an avid cyclist, urban hiker and a big sports fan. He is also passionate about art, music and delicious food and, most of all, pastries.

 Edison’s motto as an educator is simple: He considers his students’ success to be his own success.

Katherine O.

Katherine is bilingual in English and Spanish. She holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto. She has experience working with students from kindergarten to Grade 8, in all subject areas. She is qualified to teach K-12. Her teachable subjects in the senior grades are English and Social Science. Working for YRDSB and TDSB in LTO positions, Katherine has developed skills in preparing and teaching lessons for subjects such as math, literacy, social studies and science, focusing on students’ learning by using the UDL approach to teaching. Katherine engages in open communication with students about inclusivity, equity and different learning approaches to establish a safe and respectful learning environment. Katherine holds additional qualifications in Reading, Special Education and Teaching English Language Learners. Katherine has dedicated several years to teaching students with dual diagnosis life skills. She is a strong advocate for incorporating technology in the classroom for students with exceptionalities. Katherine enjoys volunteering her time to organizations such as, The Catholic Children’s Aid Society and Distress Center. Her role at CCAS involved supervising access to ensure the emotional and physical protection of the children.

CHRISTINA Z.

Christina is an elementary school teacher, currently at home on maternity leave. She is a homeroom teacher, certified to teach Grades 1-12, and has a passion for teaching math. She loves connecting with students, getting them excited about learning, and watching their skills and confidence grow! She has taken several courses upon graduation, including four Additional Qualification courses.

CHRISTINA G.

While completing her undergraduate studies at McGill, Christina tutored on behalf of the Sociology department, preparing students for upcoming exams and assignments. As well, Christina volunteered at the essay writing center, where she edited and assisted students with papers.

Christina is passionate about literacy and believes that skills in reading and writing are fundamental to success in any subject. She has worked extensively with students with developmental and processing problems, working to help the students overcome difficulties and obstacles. She is trained and very experienced in SAT and SSAT preparation as well as assisting students with writing personal statements of excellence. She teaches students studying skills, test-taking strategies, and how to overcome test-related anxiety. As well, Christina specializes in preparing students to transition from public to private schools. Her preparation is exhaustive, including test-taking prep, interview prep for the student, and interview prep for the parents.

Christina believes in developing and fostering relationships with each student to create a comfortable environment that allows the students to flourish and learn. She is a firm advocate for different learning styles and tries to incorporate a variety of techniques that deviate from standardized education, as she considers each student’s learning style to be unique and accommodable.
