JENNY A.
Jenny holds a Master’s degree in Childhood Education and Literacy, and is NYS professionally certified in these areas. Additionally , she holds a NYS professional certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has over six years of teaching and tutoring experience. While working at a charter school in the Bronx from 2019-2023, she was a lead teacher who taught 4th grade during the school year and rising 2nd graders in the summer. She also worked as a math and ELA curriculum writer. She is currently teaching 5th Grade at a private school in Westchester.
CAROLYN L.
Carolyn is a driven graduate student in the Education field. As a current teacher’s aide at an elementary school, she strives to educate each student with various learning styles. Carolyn’s goal is to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all elementary ages. After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education and a minor in Mathematics from SUNY Oneonta, she is currently working towards a Master of Science in Childhood Education from the University at Albany.
SHEELA K.
Sheela started her professional career as an Engineer in the Corporate Services industry and worked with various major corporations in management position(s). She switched her corporate career to College and High School teaching/tutoring while raising her family and absolutely loved it! She is extremely passionate about teaching Mathematics even though her academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. And with a combined (almost) fifteen (15) years of teaching and tutoring experiences in mathematics under her belt, Sheela is very well prepared to continue guiding her students to not only understand the math concepts but also to develop a deeper understanding of their applications in various disciplines.
KATIE B.
Katie is a seasoned elementary teacher with eight years in the private school system. Her expertise spans from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. Katie is a master of differentiating instruction to assist neurodiverse learners (IEPs) while accommodating all learning styles. Beyond remedial support and enrichment, Katie provides executive function coaching for students and their families. She instills a “growth mindset” in her students and fosters their confidence development through hands-on and engaging lessons. Katie prioritizes communication with families, sharing the progress being made and the next steps.
Katie earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology from Boston College. She also holds a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College. In her spare time, Katie works at a fitness studio and loves to needlepoint. In the summer, she enjoys being out on her boat, traveling to Nantucket, and playing with her baby nephew.
IBRAHIM H.
Ibrahim H. is an experienced chemistry teacher serving both college and high school students in the last eight years. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry, Ibrahim worked as both a teacher assistant (TA) and supplemental instructor throughout college assisting with the general chemistry courses. Upon graduating from his undergraduate, Ibrahim went on to complete a master’s degree in education in chemistry for adolescents to become a high school chemistry teacher. While completing his first master’s degree, he worked as a math tutor for algebra and college math courses at high schools throughout the Bronx. Recently, Ibrahim has completed his second master’s degree in educational leadership. While being a high school teacher, Ibrahim has also taught credit recovery night classes, summer enrichment programs and home tutoring for students.
TARA A.
Tara is a dynamic and engaging instructor with over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher and tutor. Holding a State of Connecticut certification for grades 7-12, she has navigated diverse educational settings, including public and independent schools. Tara excels at understanding students’ needs and guiding them to the next level, encouraging them to take language risks along the way. She graduated with a degree in Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island, leading her to Guatemala as a Peace Corps Volunteer. There, she fell in love with teaching and the Spanish language. Tara received her Master of Arts in Spanish from Middlebury College and now shares her passion as an adjunct professor at UCONN Stamford.

Additionally, Mina has spent years tutoring a range of subjects, from math to English to history. Mina speaks Spanish proficiently and Korean conversationally.

Adam is an experienced science teacher with over 15 years experience in the classroom as a teacher and another 6 years as a school administrator mainly focusing on Living Environment, Biology, and Environmental Science. Adam has a good grasp on standards for science based on his school wide work with students who have special needs. He therefore can be very specific in his approach to give students exactly what they need in order to be successful.
