Prep Academy Tutors is an elite team of certified teachers who have the qualifications and knowledge needed to provide a professional level of education. Our San Antonio tutors are certified tutors in San Antonio who are qualified to teach but believe in the value of personalized education. After COVID-19, many K-12 students have fallen behind. Tutoring has been proven to be the most effective method of getting students back to their grade level, or above. One-on-one tutoring is more effective than smaller class sizes, after-school classes, longer semesters, longer school days, or summer school. In addition, today’s large class sizes make it nearly impossible to give each student the right level of attention they need. We pride ourselves in providing certified educators with an alternative option that allows them to educate in an environment that is low-pressure and personal to each student. At Prep Academy Tutors, we create an environment that is both fulfilling and enriching for both our tutors and students.

One-on-One Tutoring in San Antonio
It can be challenging for teachers in the classroom to give every student the attention they need to succeed. Fortunately, Prep Academy Tutors provides at-home and online one-on-one tutoring in San Antonio.
Instead of acting like a teacher at the front of the classroom, our tutors act more like a “smart friend” who can reiterate source material and explain subject matter in a way that is easy to understand.
By bringing education into your home, our tutors can better explain course material and revisit challenging subject matter to fill in any gaps in your child’s knowledge.
Our educators work one-one-one with students to make a connection, better understand the student’s individual educational needs, and accommodate accordingly with a customized education plan that is unique to the student.
Our tutors create a safe, low-pressure educational environment where students feel like they can learn and develop comprehension at their own pace.
Semi-Private Tutoring
Prep Academy Tutors provides semi-private tutoring in Oklahoma so that students can benefit from the magic that happens when you put two heads together.
If your child and a friend are at a similar learning stage and are interested in utilizing tutoring, they can benefit from having the same instructor while also getting a more one-on-one approach to learning.
Group Tutoring Sessions
Prep Academy Tutors offers group tutoring in San Antonio for groups of 3-6 students. While group tutoring does not provide the same personalization as one-on-one tutoring, it makes up for this with the energy, camaraderie, and collaboration that comes with group learning.
In group tutoring, students can come together to work as a team, brainstorm, bounce ideas off one another, and provide each other with the support and encouragement to confidently set and reach academic goals.
Private Tutors in San Antonio for All Subjects
Because all students have different learning needs, capabilities, and interests, some subjects can pose as more of a challenge in the classroom than others. This is why Prep Academy Tutors hires certified educators with various specialties.
Whether you are looking for a science tutor or English tutor in San Antonio, we can pair your child with a tutor who has the specialized knowledge needed to fill in any gaps in their knowledge of a particular subject.
We offer tutoring for the following subjects:
● Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, General Science, Computer Science)

Texas Curriculum-Based Education
San Antonio develops a curriculum based on standards established by the Texas State Department of Education.
In San Antonio, the adoption of standards is a State Department of Education responsibility. A standard describes what student should know and be able to do. Standards are sometimes referred to as learning standards. Standards define the goals of education — what students need to learn — not the processes of education or how schools are structured or how they operate.
These curriculum standards are maintained by all of our tutors. By working with your child’s curriculum, we can help fill any gaps in their knowledge and cover material before it’s taught. This will provide them with the tools they need to better understand and more confidently approach subject matter as it is taught.
Enrichment & Remedial Programs
Enrichment Programs
Tutoring is for more than just remediation purposes. Tutoring can be an enriching experience for any student looking to learn more or get ahead. Prep Academy Tutors offers enrichment tutoring programs in San Antonio to help students challenge themselves academically.
Remedial Programs:
Every child is capable of learning when equipped with the right tools. Prep Academy Tutors offers remedial programs that are designed to provide these tools to students struggling with subjects like reading and English.
We offer two remedial programs:
Direct Instruction Reading Mastery Program: Our tutors offer a direct instruction reading mastery program that is designed to help students struggling with reading comprehension. This program is 90% review based and uses carefully developed and fully-scripted directions to help students to retain information long term and develop comprehension at a faster rate.
The Wilson Reading System: This program is designed to suit the educational needs of students with dyslexia or other language-based learning disabilities. Tutors executing this program exercise the Orton-Gillingham method; which is the concept of utilizing multi-sensory instruction through reading, listening, seeing, etc., which helps students to retain literacy comprehension.

About
Beth grew up on the east coast and moved to Texas as a young adult. She first thought of teaching after working with special needs kids at summer camp, and that led her to study special education. Not long after, she got married and started a family, and stayed home to teach her four children, two of whom received generous scholarships. She originally started tutoring as a way to make some extra money while still homeschooling her kids. After her own kids were launched, she spent three years as a math interventionist at Great Hearts Classical Charter School. Her students often say that she makes math less scary, that they don’t cry any more, that she explains things in a way that makes concepts more clear. Prior co-workers have exclaimed, “This was the most engaging example of math tutoring I have ever seen. The pacing was quick and vigorous, but the scholars were met just at their right level.” Her students at Great Hearts showed definite improvement in test scores, and her private students often bring up their SAT or ACT scores, or raise their grade in class. Though math is her strongest subject, she has also taught Spanish and some ELA. She lives for the moment when the light goes on and a student “gets it”! She also loves giving cooking classes and sewing lessons. In her free time, Beth enjoys gourmet cooking, gardening, and swing dancing.

Jeremy is a certified Physics/Mathematics, and Technology Education teacher. He grew up in San Antonio, TX, moving to San Marcos to complete an undergraduate degree in Sound Recording Technology. While working on his bachelor degree, Jeremy found a job as an AVID tutor for junior high and high school students, and this was where he first got a taste of working in the classroom. Next, he then spent a year as a graduate student abroad at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, before returning to Texas to finish his masters degree in International Studies. Jeremy grew up with a deep love of travel and took the opportunity to explore the world during and after college. He had always thought about teaching full time, and it wasn’t until the covid pandemic after being stuck at home that he decided to take the leap and join the teaching field. During his time as a teacher, Jeremy has also sponsored the student guitar club on his campus, and co-sponsored the Science Bowl team. In the summer of 2023, Jeremy taught physics for the Pre Freshman Engineering Program hosted at UTSA, where students conducted hands-on experiments to learn about static and current electricity. Jeremy believes that by building a solid relationship with his students, he can better meet their needs and grow their learning.

Jordan is certified through the Texas Education Agency in Mathematics, grade levels 4 through 12. Jordan has 10 years of experience teaching in the public school system, charter school system, and private tutoring. His experience is with mostly middle school and high school grade levels (6th-12th). In today’s education world, students are being asked to problem solve using algebra at younger ages. This is why students today must be mathematically prepared for whatever their future holds, whether it is scoring better on college entry tests or daily at whatever skill they seek to pursue.
Jordan is a Marine Corps veteran, but don’t worry, he’s actually one of the smart ones! Seriously though, Jordan is very sincere and passionate about mathematics and connecting/teaching students. Jordan discovered that this was his God-given purpose in life during his time as a youth minister at his home church for 2 years, soon after being honorably discharged from military service. Jordan looks forward to serving the community by assisting students to develop a growth mindset and a passion for the most important topic in school, MATH! Although, Mr. Guerrero is somewhat biased in this opinion!
