Les premiers succès d’Alex au secondaire et sa forte motivation à inspirer les autres l’ont amenée à poursuivre une carrière dans l’enseignement. Alex a obtenu un diplôme en éducation à l’Université McGill avec une spécialité en éducation à la santé.

Pendant quatre ans, Alex a poursuivi sa carrière d’enseignante à Bialik, Kuper Academy et ECS; son alma mater, au cours de laquelle elle a introduit de nouvelles techniques et de nouveaux sujets pour moderniser ce qui ressemblait à un modèle désuet. Plus précisément, une approche holistique était une chose à laquelle Alex croyait affectueusement dès le premier jour. Elle a pu créer un programme qui a intégré ces idées et ce fut un énorme succès. Après avoir constaté l’impact positif que le programme avait sur ses élèves qui excellaient en étant motivés à vivre un style de vie équilibré, Alex savait que c’était une vision qu’elle devait poursuivre à plus grande échelle et a entrepris de construire une communauté de leaders et d’apprenants.

Alex a fondé la Maison d’Étude en 2018 et a vu ses élèves grandir et atteindre les objectifs qu’ils s’étaient fixés. EN: Adrien is a 3rd year student in Mechanical Engineering at Concordia University. Perfectly bilingual, he has been tutoring math and physics both online and in person for over three years. Holly Staples is an art teacher and active artist. She recently graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, Studio Art and Art History at Concordia University (2021-2024) and studied Painting at Arizona State University (2019-2020).

Holly has had a passion for art since she could draw, her passion was fueled by amazing art tutors as well as art teachers in a specialized visual arts program (2012-2019). Originally from Annapolis, MD in the United States, Holly became a teacher’s assistant at Art Farm (a community arts center). While working with kids during after school classes and summer camps, Holly also volunteered within her community doing face painting at various events and festivals.

Since moving to Montreal in 2021, Holly taught a watercolor workshop for new moms and their children at Studio 414. She also led a sumi-e japanese ink painting lesson for a group of peers in an Early Childhood Art Education class. Mme Jiyeon a enseigné le français langue seconde à des élèves âgés de 5 à 12 ans, issus de divers horizons culturels et linguistiques, ainsi que diverses matières au niveau élémentaire dans les écoles d’immersion française de Montréal au cours des deux dernières années. Mme Jiyeon croit en l’importance de la connexion avant le programme, c’est-à-dire qu’une relation doit être établie entre l’élève et l’enseignant pour que l’apprentissage ait lieu.

Kaitlyn attended high school level at the Study School, college level at Dawson in Pure & Applied Science (also took the Health Science courses, anatomy, organic Chemistry, etc. ), and university level at Concordia in Civil Engineering. While she has an affinity towards math, science, and physics, most subjects were enjoyed at some point! Kaitlyn can help generally with homework and understanding, but is also very helpful with test and exam preparation.

Katherine is completing her bachelor’s degree in math and physics from McGill University. She has attended both English and French educational institutions throughout her academic career. These include her studies at a French high school, Pensionnat Saint-Nom-de-Marie, as well as Vanier College to complete a DEC in Pure and Applied Science. In both of these schools, she consistently made the honour roll and excelled academically. Her most notable achievements would mostly be seen in her college years. There, she was appointed as a teaching assistant for several of the upper level mathematics courses where she helped students in courses ranging from Calculus to Linear Algebra. It was also during this time that she became a research assistant for her professor’s biology course and lead a team of other students through an experiment whose paper was eventually published in the Vanier Sigma Science Journal.

Despite being very occupied with her studies during her academic career, she began to take an interest in tutoring others a long time ago. As she went through high school, she saw her classmates struggle in subjects she both enjoyed and did so well in. It was then, at the age of 15, that she decided to start helping them after school. This is something that she would for years to come and now, at the age of 20, she continues to tutor, utilizing her vast knowledge and great experience in this field to help her students.

Lia graduated from the Sciences Po Paris & University of British Columbia Dual Degree program (B.A.), majoring in Politics & Government and International Relations. She is currently a student in McGill’s Faculty of Law’s B.C.L./J.D. program.

Sophia is an alumna of The Study School and Marianopolis College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at Concordia University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Marketing. Last year, Taïs had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador where she worked as a volunteer in a small town to organize after-school activities for kids and help them with school work. Furthermore, her first jobs in Montreal consisted in being a summer camp counsellor in which she taught the basics of tennis, badminton, soccer, and swimming to several groups of kids (ranging from 4 to 14 years old).

Taylor is a fourth-year teacher, having first taught in the North Shore of Quebec for 2 years and now living and teaching in Montreal. Originally from Ontario, Taylor completed her undergraduate and teaching degree at Bishops University from 2016-2021 with a focus on Social Studies (Geography and History).

Zahra holds a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has over seven years of experience in the education industry. She has worked as an educational counselor, tutor, and university-level instructor. Zahra specializes in subjects such as mathematics, electromagnetics, physics, computer programming, and computer science, with a focus on data science and machine learning. She is passionate about teaching and enjoys working with students. Zahra always uses effective teaching methods to ensure her students understand and excel in their studies, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Zoe is a current PhD student in Concordia University studying ultrasound-mediated targeted drug delivery for cancer immunotherapy. Additionally, she has a BSc. in Biology from Concordia University. She has previously tutored students in math, science, and Spanish. She has worked with students from all ages and backgrounds, having also volunteered in popular literacy campaigns. Zoe strives to make learning enjoyable by catering to the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
