Subject Specific & Curriculum Based Tutoring
Subject-Based Tutoring
Certain subjects can be challenging for students due to their learning abilities, how they retain information, and even their personal preferences. This is why we have tutors for specific subjects that may be a point of struggle for students.
Whether you are seeking an English tutor, science tutor, or math tutor in Montreal, we will pair your child with a tutor who boasts specialized knowledge of the subject matter they require assistance with.
We offer tutoring in Montreal for a wide variety of subjects:

● Social Studies (Philosophy, History, Geography, Civics)
● Mathematics (General Mathematics, Algebra & Geometry, Calculus & Vectors, Data Management, Advanced Functions)
● English (Essay Writing, Reading, Literature, Writing Skills)

Curriculum-Based Tutoring
Maison d’Étude Academy provides curriculum-based tutoring services in Montreal that aligns with the Quebec education system. Our expert and professional tutors educate based on the Ministère de l’Éducation (Ministry of Education) curriculum implemented in Montreal and throughout Quebec.
We educate based on the current curriculum to ensure that your child is able to catch up with his or her classmates, approach subject matter with confidence in the classroom, and make connections between what they are learning both at home and in school.
Unlike in a standardized classroom, if your child has any gaps in knowledge or is struggling with a specific subject matter, we revisit the material to ensure comprehension. We do this by providing your child with the one-on-one attention necessary to both identify and rectify these gaps in knowledge.
Schools in Montreal provide educational instruction given in both French or English depending on the school board, and our tutors will provide education and instruction in the way that is most comprehensive and easy for your child to understand.

Alex Shiller
Maison d'Étude Academy Quebec Franchisee
About
Alex’s early success in high school and strong motivation to inspire others led her to pursue a career in education. Alex completed a degree in Education at McGill University with a speciality in Health Education.
For four years Alex pursued her teaching career at Bialik, Kuper Academy, and ECS; her alma mater, during which time she introduced new techniques and new topics to modernize what felt like an antiquated model. Specifically, a holistic approach was something Alex fondly believed in from day one. She was able to create a program that integrated these ideas and it was a tremendous success. After seeing the positive impact that the program had on her students who excelled from being motivated to live a balanced lifestyle, Alex knew that this was a vision she had to pursue on a bigger scale and set out to build a community of leaders and learners.
Alex founded Maison d’Étude in 2018 and watched her students’ grow and succeed in their goals they had set out. This success led her to join the Prep Academy Team which further propelled her mission of offering high quality learning experiences that empower students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the the classroom and beyond.
