Les premiers succès d’Alex au secondaire et sa forte motivation à inspirer les autres l’ont amenée à poursuivre une carrière dans l’enseignement. Alex a obtenu un diplôme en éducation à l’Université McGill avec une spécialité en éducation à la santé.

Pendant quatre ans, Alex a poursuivi sa carrière d’enseignante à Bialik, Kuper Academy et ECS; son alma mater, au cours de laquelle elle a introduit de nouvelles techniques et de nouveaux sujets pour moderniser ce qui ressemblait à un modèle désuet. Plus précisément, une approche holistique était une chose à laquelle Alex croyait affectueusement dès le premier jour. Elle a pu créer un programme qui a intégré ces idées et ce fut un énorme succès. Après avoir constaté l’impact positif que le programme avait sur ses élèves qui excellaient en étant motivés à vivre un style de vie équilibré, Alex savait que c’était une vision qu’elle devait poursuivre à plus grande échelle et a entrepris de construire une communauté de leaders et d’apprenants.

Alex a fondé la Maison d’Étude en 2018 et a vu ses élèves grandir et atteindre les objectifs qu’ils s’étaient fixés. Ce succès l’a amenée à rejoindre l’équipe de la Prep Academy, ce qui a propulsé sa mission d’offrir des expériences d’apprentissage de haute qualité qui permettent aux étudiants d’acquérir les compétences et la confiance dont ils ont besoin pour réussir en classe et au-delà.

Amanda Guedes has a bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten Elementary from Mcgill University. She has been working with children since her teenage years when she volunteered at a daycare and then began working there as a replacement educator. She then continued to pursue her love for working with children through the education program at Mcgill University. She graduated in 2019 and since then has worked towards her career in teaching. Upon graduating, she went abroad to London, United Kingdom to start her teaching career and gain experience. There, she completed two years of teaching –at the grade 5 level and kindergarten level respectively –and got to appreciate the education system and its methods within the UK. Upon her return to Canada, she was able to bring back those methods and began teaching for the English Montreal School Board. Prior to his two years in Ottawa, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University in 2022. During his time at Carleton, he was a teaching assistant, tasked with grading essays and exams, organizing and running discussion groups, and teaching lessons. From an early age, Griffin had a passion for history and politics, even attempting to memorize the list of Canadian Prime Ministers in first grade. This passion eventually led him to double major in History and Political Science at McGill. Kaitlyn attended high school level at the Study School, college level at Dawson in Pure & Applied Science (also took the Health Science courses, anatomy, organic Chemistry, etc. ), and university level at Concordia in Civil Engineering. While she has an affinity towards math, science, and physics, most subjects were enjoyed at some point! Kaitlyn can help generally with homework and understanding, but is also very helpful with test and exam preparation.

ENG: Kat is a nursing student at McGill University, currently completing her final year in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She earned her French high school diploma, graduating on the honors roll. Kat has experience tutoring younger students in grades 7 through 9, focusing on science and math within the Ontario curriculum. Through mostly self-organized after-school tutoring sessions, she supported students in working through assigned homework and guided them in preparing for unit tests and exams. Marcus has a Master’s degree in Physics from McGill University, and a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Victoria. Marcus has a wide variety of experience as a Teaching Assistant in 100 to 500 level Physics courses at McGill, and an extensive higher level Math education (including upper level Calculus and Linear Algebra). Through his research experience at McGill, Marcus also has a variety of computational skills, including extensive experience programming in Python. Marcus can offer advice on what an academic path in science might look like as a career, particularly in Physics and Astronomy.

With plans to obtain further credentials in the education sector, Marcus hopes to become a secondary school instructor. Meghan has an MA in History and a BA (double major) in Classics and International Development from McGill University. She is in the final stages of completing her PhD in History and Classics at Yale University. Meghan has published a number of articles in academic publications and presented her research at conferences around the world. She speaks three languages fluently (English, French, and Romanian) and works in several others (Italian, German, Latin, and Ancient Greek).

Natasha is a third-year Kindergarten and Elementary Education student from McGill University, specializing in French Immersion teaching. She graduated from Collège Sainte Anne high school and got her CEGEP diploma from Collégial International Sainte Anne. She is continuing her academic pursuits at the McGill Faculty of Law’s J.D./B.C.L. program, where she is the director of L.E.X, the Faculty’s student-led educational outreach program for youth across Montreal.

Rachel published her first research paper, “Addiction science and conceptions of freewill”, in the scientific journal Addictive Behaviors. She was the opinion editor and columnist for USC’s only student-run publication, the Daily Trojan, and is a four-time Canadian national public speaking champion. EN: Siân is currently studying at McGill University in the Faculty of Education. Sophie T. is a fourth-year student at McGill University studying Kindergarten and Elementary Education, with a specialization in French Immersion. Throughout her academic journey, Sophie has gained extensive experience working with children of various ages through roles in summer camps, babysitting, and substitute teaching. She has completed two teaching placements as part of her program. One placement was as a student teacher in a Grade 5 classroom at Roslyn Elementary School, where she gained experience planning lessons, supporting diverse learners, and managing a classroom environment. Her second placement was at the Jewish General Day School, in a specialized program designed to support students with significant behavioural challenges. Taïs studied in McGill University from which she obtained a bachelors in Biology, and she graduated with Honours and an Animal Health Specialization.
Last year, Taïs had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador where she worked as a volunteer in a small town to organize after-school activities for kids and help them with school work. Furthermore, her first jobs in Montreal consisted in being a summer camp counsellor in which she taught the basics of tennis, badminton, soccer, and swimming to several groups of kids (ranging from 4 to 14 years old).

Taylor is a Special Education Teacher and ABA Therapist. She holds a Masters in Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (UofT), and is working towards her Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification with the Florida Institute of Technology. She currently works with the English Montreal School Board and previously worked for the Toronto District School Board for three years. Taylor brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning challenges. Taylor’s expertise in creating and implementing personalized learning intervention plans makes learning accessible and fun for all learners, while building the confidence and skills for academic success.

Trixie is a chemical engineering at McGill University. Over the years, she has had the pleasure of working with students from diverse backgrounds and age groups. She offers tutoring in the math and sciences spanning from elementary to university level.
