Keylin is an educator and tutor with a strong background in Spanish, linguistics, and language education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages with a concentration in Spanish from George Mason University, along with minors in Linguistics and Social Work. She is currently continuing her graduate studies (Bilingual Education) at George Mason University, where she also teaches Spanish at the university level.

Keylin has experience tutoring and supporting students in both Spanish and English and working with multilingual and bilingual learners in school and one-on-one settings. As a native Spanish speaker who learned English as an additional language, she understands the challenges and rewards of navigating more than one language. She is particularly passionate about linguistics and how students can use their entire linguistic repertoire as a resource for learning. Her teaching philosophy supports translanguaging, encouraging bilingual students to draw on all of their language skills to make connections, express themselves, and develop new knowledge rather than viewing their languages as completely separate.

Keylin strives to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. She enjoys adapting her teaching to each student’s individual needs, interests, and learning style while helping them develop skills they can use independently. Above all, Keylin is passionate about education and helping students recognize the value of their linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Outside of teaching, Keylin enjoys learning languages, staying active, exploring different cultures and has recently developed an interest in skydiving.
