Kayla H.
Kayla holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in chemistry and has always loved working with students. With 11 years of experience teaching high school chemistry and physics, Kayla loves helping students take subjects that can feel intimidating and make them feel much more manageable. The feeling of accomplishment when a student tackles a complex chemistry or physics problem is a shared endeavor that Kayla loves to celebrate with her students. She also has 3 years of experience as a chemistry teaching assistant and adjunct instructor at the university level, as well as over 10 years of tutoring experience working with students one-on-one, both in person and virtually, as well as in small groups. Whether a student needs help mastering the basics, preparing for a big exam, or building confidence in a subject they’ve struggled with, Kayla knows that tutoring is not a “one size fits all” situation and enjoys finding the approach that works best for each individual student. Originally from Chicago, Kayla also considers herself a bit of a pizza connoisseur. Despite living away from Chicago for years, she has yet to find a pizza that truly measures up to Chicago-style pizza. The search continues, and suggestions are welcome!

EN: Anna holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Biochemistry degree with a minor in English Literature from McGill University. She specializes in CEGEP/university level biology, chemistry and biochemistry tutoring, and is passionate about making fast-paced and challenging subjects approachable to students. Through her work, she aims to give students the tools and confidence they need to succeed both academically and as future young professionals. Currently, Anna is pursuing a Masters degree in Immunology at McGill.
Outside the classroom, Anna has been involved in the sport of synchronized swimming for over 15 years and has 3+ years of experience as a private swimming coach for children ages 2-15. She loves reading, nature and collects new hobbies by the hour.

Keegan B.
Keegan is an accomplished scientist, university instructor, and STEM educator who is passionate about helping students develop confidence and genuine understanding in challenging math and science courses. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering, and Commercialization at Texas State University, where his doctoral research focuses on advanced materials and catalysts used in electrochemical energy technologies.
Keegan also earned both his Master of Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Texas State University, along with a minor in Biology. His master’s research focused on the synthesis and characterization of iridium-titanium oxide materials for use as catalysts in water electrolyzers and fuel-cell technologies. His academic accomplishments include being named Outstanding Chemistry Graduate Student in 2024 and earning recognition as an ACS Certified Researcher.
Teaching has become an important part of Keegan’s academic career. For more than three years, he served as a Graduate Instructional Assistant at Texas State, teaching undergraduate chemistry laboratory students the scientific principles behind their experiments, helping them troubleshoot problems, answering questions, and evaluating their laboratory work. He has also mentored undergraduate and master’s students in scientific research, teaching advanced experimental techniques and helping developing scientists become more confident and independent in the laboratory.
Keegan specializes in Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Algebra I & II, Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. His particularly deep expertise in chemistry makes him an excellent resource for students ranging from those encountering chemistry for the first time to advanced high school and college students tackling increasingly complex coursework.
One of Keegan’s greatest strengths is his ability to connect classroom concepts to real scientific applications. His research involves sophisticated areas of chemistry and materials science, including electrochemistry, catalyst development, spectroscopy, microscopy, and materials characterization. He has presented his research at professional scientific meetings and conferences around the country, giving him firsthand experience applying the concepts students encounter in chemistry, physics, and mathematics to important real-world scientific problems.
Despite his advanced scientific background, Keegan believes effective tutoring begins with meeting students at their current level. He focuses on building strong relationships and creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and admitting when something doesn’t make sense. Chris H.
Chris is an experienced mathematics and science educator with more than 18 years of private tutoring experience and several years of classroom teaching experience. A graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Building Science, Chris combines a strong technical background with extensive teaching experience to help students master challenging concepts, improve academic performance, and become more confident problem-solvers.
Chris currently teaches middle school mathematics, working with students in grades 6–8 and developing instruction that makes difficult concepts understandable and engaging. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, he coordinates an after-school Math Club designed to challenge students beyond the standard curriculum. Zachary M.
Zachary M. is presently in his last year of his study for his dual masters in math and physics at UTSA. Some may say that in doing so, he is trying to prolong his adolescence and avoid adulthood. But truth be told, Zach is very passionate about his studies. This was not always the case. Admittedly, Zach was mathematically challenged in middle school (his mom would help him with his algebra homework). But something clicked for him in high school. He took every AP math and science class that he could and went so far as to participate in academic UIL. After graduation from high school, Zach began studying math and physics at UTSA. He took up a job as a physics tutor on a whim but came to discover that he really enjoys helping people learn. Now as a graduate student, Zach teaches introductory physics labs. In doing so, he does his best to accommodate all of his students while simultaneously emphasizing the mathematical and theoretical underpinnings of physics.
