Molly C.

Molly O’Callaghan graduated from the University of Toronto, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts. She double majored in English and History, and minored in Classical Studies. Molly participated in many leadership positions and dedicated much of her time to the universities Literal Change chapter, an organization that supplies literacy materials to incarcerated populations. Her studies ranged from Indigenous history and literature, medieval Europe, Japanese and Korean history, ancient literature, and modern literature. Name an era- she can provide you with an anthology of it’s most notable literary works. It’s a fun party trick.

With nearly five years of tutoring experience, Molly has worked with students ranging from elementary school to university. She specializes in essay planning and writing, as well as reading comprehension, aiming to build students’ confidence by meeting them where they are at and guiding them toward their academic goals.  She has taught ENG4U (High school University English) online for student’s trying to get head in their academic journey.   Her philosophy for tutoring is to be inclusive, accessible, and facilitate a kind, engaging and safe space for all students who she encounters. School is tough. Molly will help ease those stresses and help students make progress simultaneously.  She is certified to teach English as a second language, has volunteered her time to support literacy in marginalized communities, and works full-time in educational travel.

After receiving my Bachelors at the University of Maryland, I went on to earn a Masters degree from the University of South Florida in teaching.
This is my 12th year in education. I have taught in Manatee and Sarasota county public schools, including 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. I currently work at a school in Sarasota that is a faith-based homeschool co-op. I teach classes of students in grades 4-8, providing instruction and academic support in all core subjects.

 

 

Olivier B-L

ENG: Holding a PhD from Columbia University in addition to an MA and a BA from Université de Montréal, Olivier has spent the last 11 years studying the foundations of western civilization by specializing in Classics, the interdisciplinary study of Greek and Roman Antiquity.

Driven by a passion for teaching and explaining difficult concepts from a very young age, Olivier has been an instructor for 4 years at Columbia University and a private tutor for over 5 years. Olivier has instructed students from all ages and levels, ranging from elementary school to CEGEP and undergraduate students. Olivier feels especially at home teaching French and English, as well as philosophy, the humanities, history and literature. Olivier also has extensive experience writing essays and papers himself, and has experience mentoring students in developing the skills to become compelling and persuasive writers.

Throughout his academic years, Olivier has developed a studying ethic that has allowed him to develop the discipline and focus required to succeed in a PhD program at an Ivy League university. Olivier believes that the real key to academic success comes less from innate talent than from curating the proper mindset and developing the right studying habits. As such, Olivier believes that effective tutoring goes beyond the classroom and seeks to also coach and mentor the human being behind the student.

Olivier se sent particulièrement à l’aise d’enseigner le français et l’anglais, ainsi que la philosophie, les humanités, l’histoire et la littérature. Il possède également une vaste expérience en rédaction d’essais et de travaux universitaires et a accompagné des étudiants dans le développement de leurs compétences rédactionnelles afin de les aider à devenir des auteurs convaincants et persuasifs.

Tout au long de son parcours universitaire, Olivier a développé une éthique d’étude qui lui a permis d’acquérir la discipline et la concentration nécessaires à la réussite d’un doctorat dans une université de l’Ivy League. Olivier est convaincu que la clé de la réussite scolaire réside moins dans le talent inné que dans le développement d’un état d’esprit adéquat et de bonnes habitudes d’étude. C’est pourquoi il estime qu’un tutorat efficace dépasse le cadre de la salle de classe et vise également à accompagner et à guider l’individu derrière l’élève.

Sophie G.

Sophie G. is an educator with a strong background in teaching, mentorship, and student support across K-12 and higher education settings. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Hamilton College, where she graduated cum laude with minors in French and Government, and she is currently completing her M.S.Ed. in Education Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sophie has taught writing to incoming high school students through Breakthrough Collaborative and AmeriCorps, supported Algebra II learners as an Ignite Fellow with Teach For America, and served as a Teaching Assistant in Hamilton College’s Archaeology Department, where she led labs, supported student learning, and facilitated hands-on instruction.

Her work in admissions at both Hamilton College and Penn GSE has strengthened her communication skills, public speaking abilities, and commitment to educational access. Sophie prioritizes building confidence through individualized instruction and focuses on helping students connect classroom material to their own interests and motivations, fostering deeper engagement and genuine understanding.

Outside of teaching, she enjoys cooking, creative writing, and searching for four-leaf clovers.

Alexander M.

The first of his family to attend college, Alex M. graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelors in English from Rowan University in 2020 and his Masters in Teaching (Grades 7-12 English) in 2025. He was humbled to have been asked to serve as research assistant to the department’s senior English professor Dr. Cindy Vitto in his final semester of undergrad.

Alex is passionate about educating others, serving as a tutor/success coach at the nonprofit Hopeworks Camden; he constructed and managed various academic games in the dorm referred to as “The CRIB” and tutored young adults struggling with writing papers. Further, he tutored students at Villanova University’s Writing Center with regards to college essays, and student taught at both the Philadelphia Performing Arts School and Mastery Charter Lenfest.

Outside of academia, Alex is a huge fan of science fiction literature/films and video games. You may catch him exploring his beautiful neighborhood of West Philly’s coffee shops or going “psst-pssst-pssst” to a random stray cat before realizing that you’re watching him.

Jack M.

Jack M. is a dedicated educator who currently teaches 7th grade for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. A graduate of Salem State University in Massachusetts, Jack brings a passion for learning and a commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential. His teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident tackling challenges and developing lifelong skills. Outside the classroom, Jack’s caring nature shines through his lifelong love of rescuing dogs, and his competitive spirit comes from years spent playing sports—a balance of compassion and teamwork that he brings to his teaching every day.

Monica G.

Monica recently graduated from the University of Toronto, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in French Language and Linguistics, and Economics.

Throughout her undergraduate degree, she participated in two French immersion programs through the Canadian government’s Explore program to further develop her language proficiency. Through these programs at the Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia and Université Laval in Québec, Monica not only enriched her French language skills but also deepened her understanding of Francophone culture across different provinces.

Monica is passionate about education and aspires to teach French at the high school level. Through her tutoring experience, she specializes in tutoring French students and new learners, where she shares her enthusiasm for language learning. She has always enjoyed working with children and has gained significant experience in this area over the years. Additionally, she volunteers with the Polish Scouting Association, working with children aged 4 to 18. Each summer, she spends two weeks with the organization leading youth on canoeing and backpacking trips through Algonquin Park, where participants develop teamwork, leadership, and outdoor skills. This experience has strengthened her ability to engage, mentor, and support children in diverse learning and developmental contexts. In her free time, Monica enjoys hiking, canoeing and travelling.

Frances G.

Frances has a doctorate in Instructional Leadership, a Masters degree in Varying Exceptionalities, along witn a BS degree in Business. Frances has 23 years working with Special Ed students in Elementary, Middle and High school students. Frances also has a Professional license in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL), Reading Endorsement, and Elementary Certification Grades K-6. Frances is passionate about helping students reach their full potential in school and in life.

 

 

 

Didem A.

Didem is a passionate and results-driven educator with over 10 years of experience tutoring more than 200 students, ranging from elementary to senior level. Based in Metro Vancouver, she specializes in supporting students in developing critical reading, analytical writing, and communication skills for IB, AP, British Curriculum, and standardized test preparation, including the SAT, ACT, IELTS, and more. Didem holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York and a TESOL teaching certification awarded with distinction. She has taught students worldwide through both in-person and online sessions, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles to improve confidence and academic performance. Skilled in instruction, Didem empowers learners to achieve their full potential through personalized, engaging support.

When she’s not tutoring, Didem loves spending time at the beach with a good book. She’s also a proud dog enthusiast who appreciates the company of cats—sometimes both at the same time!

Richard S.

Rich is a retired lawyer. In addition to a law degree, he has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetoric. As a tutor, teaching assistant and adjunct faculty, he has taught and tutored students ranging from elementary school to graduate school. He specializes in English literature and composition, business, and social studies.
