Benjamin Hughes, PHD is an instructor of Biomedical Sciences at NYU. Benjamin’s long history of research experience includes signal transduction and mechanisms of receptor activation. As a researcher at Case Western Reserve University, he was involved in many studies regarding mechanisms of progressive kidney diseases and renal regulation/involvement of systemic hypertension.

Brendan Gorman is committed to empowering students to advance achievement. Jean Carlo is an accomplished teacher with seven years of teaching experience. He grew up in Hudson County, NJ and went to Rutgers University where he graduated with a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in History and a concentration in Education. He got his start in Jersey City as a 9th grade English I intern teacher then moved on to Hackensack where he taught mostly 12th grade English IV for five years. Currently, he teaches SAT/ACT courses to help students score higher in their exams and has helped students with college essays as well as getting into enrichment programs for scholarships and course prep.

Jennifer W. brings three decades of experience as a civics cheerleader and a history hype woman. Joe Moran is a firm believer in the transformative power of education. He’s been involved in the educational field for 30 years as a teacher, supervisor, assistant principal, principal, and coach. He’s worked for the most part at the middle and high school levels. He holds NJ certification as a teacher of English, a teacher of social studies, a supervisor, a principal and a school administrator. Joe earned an AB in English and history from Boston College, as well as a MA in Education from St. Peter’s College and an Ed.S. from Seton Hall University. He is employed as a middle school social studies and language arts teacher in a NJ public school district. His spare time involves travel and spending time with his grandchildren, as well as fixing (or more accurately paying others to fix) his 100+ year old house.

Josh earned his Master’s in Science Education from Rutgers, where he also studied Physics with minors in Math and Education. Since 2010, he has been helping students through private tutoring, Rutgers programs, and various companies—spending nearly 10,000 hours working one-on-one with learners of all levels.

What Josh loves most about teaching is making tough subjects like Physics and Math feel less intimidating. He specializes in high school and college level math and chemistry courses in addition to standardized test preparation in these areas. His level of subject matter expertise and understanding of students’ individual preferred learning styles helps his students achieve great success in their studies. His teaching style focuses on asking the student questions to allow them to arrive at the answer, which results in better memory and pattern recognition when they inevitably later see similar types of problems. He understands that every student is unique and has the patience to work with them on the strategies and methods that will set each student up for success.

Sahil is a full-time Math enthusiast and tutor. He enjoys helping middle school, high school, and college students learn Math and making each tutoring session enjoyable, interesting, and interactive!

Sahil tutors the following topics: Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and all SAT Math.

Sean is an experienced educator and mental performance coach with a passion for helping students build mental skills, develop effective learning strategies, and reach their academic goals. With over seven years of experience working with diverse learners—including students, athletes, business professionals, and service members—Sean specializes in fostering confidence, motivation, and resilience in the classroom.

Sean holds a M.S. in Sport and Performance Psychology from Florida State University and a B.S. in Applied Psychology from East Stroudsburg University. His background in psychology and performance coaching allows him to teach students valuable study habits, test-taking strategies, and mindset techniques to improve academic performance. Whether guiding students through challenging coursework or helping them overcome test anxiety, his approach is centered on providing personalized support to enhance learning and long-term success.

Outside of tutoring and coaching, Sean enjoys sports, staying active, spending time with his wife and two dogs, and exploring new books, movies, and podcasts.

With a robust foundation in early childhood and special education, along with her credentials as a licensed learning consultant specializing in neurodiversity, Stacey brings expertise and passion to her work with students.

As a Neurodivergent Specialist, Stacey’s approach, grounded in the constructivist theory, prioritizes experiential learning through dynamic, hands-on activities, social and emotional engagement, and meaningful project-based outcomes.

Susan, a highly experienced, dedicated, and caring teacher, has taught students with special needs in grades kindergarten through third grade for over 30 years. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from William Paterson University. She has standard New Jersey Teaching Certificates in Elementary Education and Teacher of the Handicapped.

Susan is very skilled at modifying lessons to address her students’ unique needs, challenges, and abilities. Her experience includes teaching reading/language arts, math, science and social studies to students with speech, language and learning disabilities, cognitive delays, ADHD, autism, and physical disabilities.

A lifelong New Jersey resident, Susan enjoys spending time with her family. Some of her favorite activities are going to the beach, watching movies, playing board games, reading, baking with her daughters, and taking their family dog for walks.

Susan is committed to bringing out the best in each student and keeping her students engaged through creative lessons to address their individual needs and interests. She is eager to share her expertise with your child to help him/her improve their skills and gain confidence.

Sydni holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Public Health from Muhlenberg College. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Montclair State University, where she also pursued a dual degree in Clinical and School Psychology. Sydni is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).

She currently serves as a school psychologist at North Boulevard Elementary School in Pompton Plains, NJ, working with special education students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Sydni is passionate about supporting diverse learners and has extensive experience working with students with ADHD and learning disabilities.

Outside of her professional work, Sydni enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Jax.

For the past 19 years, Vera has been teaching mathematics at the high school level, from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus, in some of New Jersey’s top private and public schools. She is the Central Jersey Math League director for Middlesex High School and creates curriculum on Rubicon Atlas Curriculum for Algebra 2 for the district of Middlesex.

Vera obtained an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Physics as well as a Master’s in Educational Administration from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City.

While Vera believes that students are ultimately responsible for their own learning, she sees teaching as an opportunity to inspire and motivate them in the process. Her goal is to help each student reach their highest potential by fostering a love of learning. As a passionate learner herself, Vera strives to make that enthusiasm contagious.

A successful educator recognizes the uniqueness of each student and adapts instruction to accommodate different learning styles. Creating engaging, student-centered experiences is essential to fostering curiosity and encouraging independent learning. Vera believes in challenging students with meaningful, achievable tasks that build their confidence—success breeds success.

Vito has over 25 years of experience in the electrical engineering field where he utilized analytical and problem-solving skills on a daily basis. Born and raised in New Jersey, Vito holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New Jersey.

Later in his career, Vito worked as a manager where he had the opportunity to mentor and train
his staff into the engineers they yearned to become. Vito guided a variety of professionals with diverse technical backgrounds by tailoring his teaching approach to the specific needs and skill sets of each individual.

Vito also has experience tutoring middle and high school level mathematics. He finds great joy in teaching a subject that he strongly utilized throughout his profession as an engineer. Not only does Vito boost students’ confidence, but he is also able to provide them with a practical understanding of the subject matter. Whether it is solving an equation or balancing a checkbook, Vito excels at bridging the gap between theory and application.
