KATIE W.

Katie holds an honours degree in English and Culture Studies, a Bachelors of Education degree, and is an official member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She has worked with a variety of students and needs; from working in daycare’s to high school with special education students. She has also taught as a swimming instructor. She primarily teaches Kindergarten to Grade 8 students core subjects (English, Social Studies, History, Math, Music, Physical Education, Science, and French, grades 1-3).
She is currently taking an Additional Qualification course regarding teaching Multilingual Language Learners (formerly ELL students). She has participated in Teacher Librarian PD sessions, as working as a Librarian is also of interest to her. She is working towards getting her Intermediate and Senior English teaching qualifications.

THALICE M.

Thalice is a passionate and loving individual who has wanted to be a teacher since the age of five. She moved to Canada at the age of eight and learned the English language within six months, It was her experiences that guided her career choices and goals to make learning a fun and inclusive environment. As a tutor, Thalice strives to make every child feel accepted and equal. She is the kind of teacher who has a positive impact on a student’s life and sets them up for great academic success. Thalice is currently attending Mount Royal University in hopes of becoming an outstanding teacher focusing on an elementary level with multiple minors which include, Humanities and Spanish Language and Cultures. Thalice has also taken a number of workshops including, the “Working with parents to promote student success” workshop and “ADHD: What Educators Need to Know.”. Thalice is also fluent in both Spanish and English, with Spanish being her first Language. She believes that teaching plays an important role in society and with the right education children can truly excel and become academically driven students and lifelong learners. Thalice believes that students learn best when they work at their own pace and receive the right amount of guidance, which makes her a great asset when it comes to a child’s academic needs.

 

 

RALPH S.

In 2023 Ralph S. completed their Masters of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at University of Toronto, qualifying them as an Ontario Certified Teacher with a specialization in Sciences and Advanced Qualifications in Mathematics, both at the Junior/Intermediate level. Coupled with a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering completed in 2020 at Toronto Metropolitan University, Ralph’s education has been built for success in STEAM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths). They have taught grades 4-8 students in the TDSB at Cosburn Middle School, Samuel Herne Public School, and Eastview Public School, and has been tutoring JK-12 students part-time for 4 years. Expressing complex ideas through poetry and fine arts are a hobby of Ralph’s, and learning with them will be the crossroads where STEAM, language, the arts, and social sciences intersect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Suzanna N.

Suzanna’s journey as an educator started after completing the Toronto Metropolitan (previously known as Ryerson) University’s Early Childhood Education program ECE in 2012. She subsequently completed my Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior
division at York University in 2012. Since obtaining her university training, has been highly motivated in working with students at the primary junior level, and after working as an ECE for several years, in 2017 she became an occasional teacher for the Toronto District School Board. Since then, She has completed a series of LTOs ranging from kindergarten to grade 5 in various schools in Toronto. She has also completed a series of additional qualification courses pertaining to teaching both in special education and mathematics. She is currently on the “eligible to hire” list for the Toronto District School Board and is actively pursuing a permanent position as a full-time teacher at the Primary/ Junior level.

 

 

Brianna M.

Brianna is currently pursuing a Masters in Teaching from University of Toronto’s OISE program. She completed her undergraduate degree in French studies with a minor in English, graduating with honours and a certificate of bilingualism. She enjoys working with children and incorporates fun into learning! With experience working at the YMCA’s before and after program as a team lead, as well as working full day kindergarten, Brianna feels well equipped to enhance the learning experience of any child from any learning background. She is organized, patient, and always willing to find another way around any problem. Brianna enjoys music, literature, and making new friends! She is determined to make a change in the educational system and help children feel that they are safe to ask any question. Her teaching style is inquiry-based and driven by a desire to make learning accessible and exciting.

 

 

Savy M.

Savy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the world of education. With a Master’s degree in English as a postgraduate and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Savyasachin has honed the art of teaching over an impressive 10+ years in the field. Through their subject matter expertise in English, Communication skills, and Social Science, they help students to excel in school and discover their aptitude and academic interest for higher studies.
Their commitment to the Ontario Curriculum focuses on developing students’ skills of decision making, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, emotional intelligence, and effective communication.
Savy has demonstrated exceptional teaching abilities as a tutor, effectively instructing international students, bridging language gaps effortlessly, and fostering a multicultural learning environment.
Savy’s teaching methods encompass academic excellence and real-world applicability to instill a holistic understanding of the subjects while they make lessons engaging and interactive. They are adept in crafting context-driven, personalized study plans and activities, catering to the diverse learning styles of adults and children of all ages.
Furthermore, Savyasachin’s deep understanding of child psychology and adult learning styles contributes significantly to their teaching effectiveness.
They responsibly involve parents in their child’s learning process in keeping with Ontario curriculum, thereby ensuring holistic development of student’s personality and behavior. Students also learn to protect their self-esteem and learn to contribute as responsible citizens.

 

 

 

ALESSIA P.

Alessia is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She grew up in Markham, and an Undergraduate Degree in Dance Education at York University. As well, she completed a Post Graduate Masters Degree in Language, Culture and Teaching. Alessia has completed a Bachelor of Education at York University with intermediate and senior qualifications in Dance, Family Studies, Drama, English as a Second Language and Special Education. In her spare time Alessia works one-on-one with children ranging from 6 years through high school helping them achieve academic success. She has supported the improvement of their reading, writing, vocabulary and early math skills. Alessia believes that by building a strong relationship with her students she is better able to meet their needs and grow their learning. As a mentor Alessia continues to develop strategies for working with children. She finds these experiences enjoyable and extremely rewarding.

 

 

Gaya S.

Gayathri S. is well known for her experience for working with children and her passion for teaching. She has her Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Education to certify her teaching credentials in Ontario. She is a member of the IB World School, where she has taught in private schools, tutoring and educating primary and junior students. She is nurturing and focuses on creating a safe space, a child-centered approach in students acknowledging their learning abilities and accomplishing their educational needs.

ERIN B.

Erin graduated from a thesis-based Masters program in Physical Activity Sciences at Université de Montréal, with a specialization in Sport Psychology. She is bilingual and completed the majority of this degree in French. Previously, Erin attended StFX University, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics in the Pre-education stream, with a minor in French and a pair in Fine Arts. She is highly knowledgeable in the French language and in the areas of academic and scientific writing. Her primary teachables include French, English, Health, Science, and Art. Outside of school, Erin is a competitive track and field pentathlete and heptathlete, with a diverse athletic background in soccer and hockey which she competed in for over 15 years.
Erin has experience working with children of all ages as a track and field coach, gymnastics coach, lifeguard and swim instructor, and Fit 4 Life Student Leader.

NATHAN C.

With a commitment to student success, Nathan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the realm of education. He holds a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in curriculum development and instructional strategies, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (major in English). Nathan has spent over 15 years honing his teaching skills in diverse educational settings, including public and online platforms. His extensive background has equipped him with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by learners of all ages and abilities.

Passionate about personalized instruction, Nathan believes that every student has unique learning styles and individual strengths. Through his engaging teaching methods and tailored lesson plans, he fosters an environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and academic growth.
