Louise has completed a Master’s of Arts in Child Study and Education this April, and currently holds her Transitional Certificate of Qualification with the OCT. She has worked with students in three school boards ranging from kindergarten to grade 5, and has recently completed an internship in a grade 4/5 French mid-immersion classroom. She enjoys the opportunity to help students learn in French and scaffold this learning to meet their needs.

Olivia is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Education at Mount Royal University, with a double minor in French and Physical Literacy. French is her first language, and she is passionate about supporting students in both French and literacy development. With 2 years of tutoring experience, she enjoys helping children build confidence while creating a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment. On the side, she also works as a soccer coach with children with disabilities, which has strengthened her patience, adaptability, and commitment to helping every child feel included and successful. EN: Meghan has an MA in History and a BA (double major) in Classics and International Development from McGill University. She is in the final stages of completing her PhD in History and Classics at Yale University. Meghan has published a number of articles in academic publications and presented her research at conferences around the world. She speaks three languages fluently (English, French, and Romanian) and works in several others (Italian, German, Latin, and Ancient Greek).

Meghan is a passionate teacher who believes that every student is capable of excellence. Her approach is characterized by empathy, patience, and kindness. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Meghan is sympathetic to the pressures modern students face: difficulties in focus, wavering confidence, and the temptation of unethical AI use among others. Meghan has had particular success in motivating students who were especially shy, withdrawn, or otherwise on the margins of the classroom. Strategies for how to bring such a student back into the fold differ on an individual basis but are always couched in mutual respect and understanding. Frequently, students who may have been struggling the most at the beginning of the term—be it with meeting deadlines, quality of work, or something else—became some of Meghan’s strongest and most self-motivated students by the end of the academic year.

EN: Sophie is a fourth-year student at McGill University studying Kindergarten and Elementary Education, with a specialization in French Immersion. Throughout her academic journey, Sophie has gained extensive experience working with children of various ages through roles in summer camps, babysitting, and substitute teaching. She has completed two teaching placements as part of her program. One placement was as a student teacher in a Grade 5 classroom at Roslyn Elementary School, where she gained experience planning lessons, supporting diverse learners, and managing a classroom environment. Her second placement was at the Jewish General Day School, in a specialized program designed to support students with significant behavioural challenges. There, she taught in a Grade 3/4 classroom and developed a strong understanding of diverse behavioural and learning disabilities, as well as strategies for supporting students with complex needs in an inclusive and structured setting. She has been passionate about teaching from a young age and has always placed a high value on education and lifelong learning. These experiences have allowed her to develop strong classroom management skills, adaptability, and an understanding of diverse learning needs. Known for her outgoing and charismatic personality, Sophie easily builds positive relationships with children, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Alexys is a university student obtaining her BA in psychology, with the intention of working towards pursuing a doctorate. She has a passion for working with kids and is experienced. She has been working with the City of Brampton for 3 years as a program instructor. She has run various recreational programs for kids, including writers craft, STEM, art, and much more. She enjoys working in a classroom setting with kids and being able to help them develop their skills and passions.
