Nazia M.

Nazia is an ECE and she grew up in Pakistan and then moved to Bahrain.  She travelled around the world and finished her postgraduate education at the University of Nottingham. Later, she moved to Canada and pursued her career as an Early childhood Educator.  She has worked with all age groups, from kindergarten to high school. Currently she is working in the Peel District School board and works with children with autism, learning difficulties and developmental disabilities at the high school level.  She has several years of tutoring experience.  She believes all children are gifted in their style and need support to reach their full potential. She provides interactive lesson plans, videos, games and worksheets. In her free time, she spends time with her children and friends. She loves to travel and enjoys cooking.

Keith W.

Keith earned his Bachelor of Education from Brock University and spent three years teaching before shifting his focus to Jake’s House Charity, where he now supports individuals with autism. He is qualified to teach across primary, junior, and intermediate divisions and is adept in all subjects. Keith originally completed his undergraduate studies at McMaster University, majoring in kinesiology. With a deep passion for fostering student learning, Keith is dedicated to making education both engaging and enjoyable, aiming to inspire life-long learning in his students. Beyond the classroom, he is an avid sports enthusiast with a particular love for baseball.

Samran M.

Samran is a passionate and dedicated Ontario Certified Teacher with seven years of rich teaching experience, both locally and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature and Creative Writing from York University, followed by a Bachelor of Education, where he specialized in English. His ongoing commitment to professional development led him to further specialize in ESL, Special Education, and Reading, culminating in a Master of Arts in English Literature and a Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing from York University. Driven by his deep love for learning and teaching, Samran’s journey naturally steered him toward Special Education and literacy remediation. His focus lies in supporting students who face unique challenges within public schools. At his previous school, Samran taught in an intensive literacy intervention class, where his expertise helped bridge achievement gaps ranging from one to five years. He firmly believes that every child has the potential for success, regardless of their circumstances, and that building meaningful rapport is key to making students feel valued and capable.

Samran strives to create engaging, student-centered learning environments where each lesson is infused with student interests and strengths. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of providing timely, meaningful feedback that fosters academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth. Over the years, Samran has worked with students across a spectrum of exceptionalities, including ASD, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, OCD, Tourette Syndrome, and more. He has also earned eight additional qualifications in Special Education, ESL, Reading, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Outside the classroom, Samran’s passion for creativity and learning continues. He is an avid reader, a creative writer, and runs a small Etsy shop where he sells prints of his original artwork. He also stays active by going to the gym and playing badminton.

Salomé G.

Salomé is currently completing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, following an academic path that includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Comparative Literature and Philosophy (University of Montreal), with a specialization in Ancient Greek and Latin. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Salomé is passionate and has built a reputation for excellence in education and scholarship.

Native French speaker and fluent in English, Salomé effectively engages with a diverse range of students and contributes to a rich, global academic environment.

Sara D.

Sara is an experienced, certified Core French teacher, with qualifications to teach students in the Junior and Intermediate divisions. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Brock University, and has a certified teachable in French. Sara is currently working as an Elementary Core French teacher, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her passion for this language with all her students. Sara completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto, with focuses on English Literature, French, and Media Studies. Sara has an abundance of experience working with Junior and Intermediate students to help them explore and progress their new learning. Sara believes that the best and most effective learning environment for students is welcoming, encourages lots and lots of questions, and prizes students for taking risks. She is a passionate and caring educator who is eager to create a learning experience tailored to meet the needs of any student.

CHRISTIE L.

Christie, a dedicated educator, holds an undergraduate degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, focusing on English, history, and geography. Currently pursuing a Master’s of Teaching at OISE, University of Toronto, Christie is committed to advancing her expertise in pedagogy and curriculum development.

With experience as a supply teacher in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and six years of casual tutoring, Christie brings practical knowledge and enthusiasm to her teaching endeavors.

Beyond education, Christie finds joy in her love for animals, baking, and exploring new hobbies. Her diverse interests contribute to her well-rounded approach to teaching and enrich her interactions with students.

Christie’s blend of academic achievement, teaching experience, and personal passions make her a dynamic and engaging educator. Dedicated to instilling a love of learning in her students, Christie is poised to make a positive impact in the field of education.

NANCY C.

Nancy comes to Prep Academy after 35 years in education, with the last 28 years as the Director of University Counselling at a private school in Vancouver, BC. Nancy has worked with over 2,000 students and parents by helping them to achieve their goals which includes acceptance into top tier post secondary institutions in Canada, United States and Abroad. Nancy holds 4 degrees from Western University (Kinesiology), UBC (B.Ed. & Masters in Ed. Admin) and UC San Diego (College Counseling).

Nancy brings a wealth of experience in post-secondary counseling and over the years, she has established strong connections with university representatives from all over the world. She has been recognized by Stanford University and The University of Chicago as an outstanding educator in the field of post-secondary guidance and in 2021 received the Distinguished Service Award from the International Association for College Admission Counseling. As part of this honour, nominators described Nancy as forward thinking, kind, compassionate and creative.

Nancy’s collaborative approach will provide Prep Academy students with one to one guidance on the university process and can specifically address any or all of the following:

In her view, there are two main drivers of post secondary counselling: to keep students calm about this process by not getting overwhelmed.  And two, to keep parents informed along the way.

MATTHEW C.

Currently serving as an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) my educational journey began at the University of Toronto, where I earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, followed by further studies at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, culminating in the achievement of my Bachelor of Education degree. I have been privileged to work with diverse student populations, spanning Kindergarten to Grade 8, for the past six years.

In addition to my academic achievements, I have undertaken various Additional Qualifications to enhance my ability to meet the unique needs of students. Currently holding certifications in Math Primary/Junior (Specialist), Teaching English Language Learners (Part 1 and 2, Specialist in progress), Reading (Part 1), and Special Education (Part 1), I am equipped with a comprehensive skill set to provide personalized and effective tutoring.

KERRY-ANN B.

Kerry-Ann is a certified teacher with over 18 years teaching experience. She has a BA Hons. in Language Arts, with a specialist in both Special Education & Sociology and additional qualifications in Teaching English Language Learners.

I am an Ontario-certified teacher with 10+ years of comprehensive teaching experience.  An educator who is motivated to transform students’ academic lives by implementing successful strategies that help them develop holistically.  Over the years, I have taught international students and improvised my teaching and student assessment skills. I use an easy-to-understand vocabulary and try to involve daily life scenarios while teaching Biology and Chemistry which help the students to comprehend the concepts well.
