Who We Are

Prep Academy Tutors is a private tutoring company serving families across Westchester County, New York and Fairfield County, Connecticut. We provide certified, in-home and online academic support for students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade — covering every subject, every grade level, and every type of learner.

Our tutors are not college students or teaching assistants. They are certified, experienced teachers who bring professional-level instruction directly to your home or to your child’s preferred online environment. Every student is individually matched with a tutor based on their subject needs, learning style, grade level, and personality — because the right fit makes all the difference.

Families across Westchester and Fairfield Counties trust us for academic tutoring in math, English Language Arts, science, history, and foreign languages, as well as specialized support services including SAT and ACT test preparation, PSAT coaching, ISEE prep for private school admissions, executive functioning coaching, college admissions counseling, college essay writing support, and Orton-Gillingham reading remediation for students with dyslexia or reading and written expression disorders.

We also offer unique academic enrichment programs for students of all ages — including Financial Literacy, Public Speaking, and STEM — for families looking to challenge and inspire their child beyond the standard curriculum.

Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, our tutors design a personalized learning plan built around your child’s specific school curriculum, their teacher’s expectations, and their individual goals. Sessions are available one-on-one, semi-private for two students at a similar learning level, or in small groups of three to six students.

We serve students and families in Bronxville, Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont, Pelham, New Rochelle, White Plains, Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Yonkers, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Tarrytown, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Port Chester, and surrounding Westchester County communities, as well as Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Fairfield, Stamford, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Wilton, and surrounding Fairfield County towns.

    FAQs

Do you offer in-home tutoring throughout Westchester County and Fairfield County?

Yes. Our tutors travel directly to your home across Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. We serve families in Bronxville, Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont, Pelham, New Rochelle, White Plains, Mamaroneck, Harrison, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown, Hastings-on-Hudson, and Port Chester in Westchester, as well as Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Fairfield, Stamford, Norwalk, Ridgefield, and Wilton in Fairfield County. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, contact us and we’ll confirm availability near you.

Are your tutors certified teachers or college students?

All of our tutors are certified, experienced teachers — not college students, recent graduates, or teaching assistants. Our team includes elementary and secondary education specialists, certified reading specialists, Orton-Gillingham accredited professionals, special education teachers, STEM specialists, and experienced AP-level instructors across math, science, history, and English. Every tutor goes through a rigorous vetting process before joining the team, and we take the matching process seriously — pairing each student with the tutor who is the right fit for their subject, grade level, and learning style, not just whoever is available.

What subjects and services do you offer?

We cover all core K–12 academic subjects including math at every level through AP Calculus, English Language Arts, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, history, and foreign languages including French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, and Mandarin. Beyond academic tutoring, we offer SAT and ACT test preparation, PSAT coaching, ISEE prep for private school admissions, college admissions counseling, college essay writing support, executive functioning coaching, and Orton-Gillingham reading remediation for students with dyslexia or reading and written expression disorders. We also run enrichment programs in Financial Literacy, Public Speaking, and STEM for students looking to go beyond the standard curriculum.

How does the tutor matching process work?

Before we pair your child with a tutor, we take the time to understand who they are as a learner — their academic goals, their current challenges, their grade level, their school’s curriculum, and their personality. We believe the relationship between a student and their tutor is just as important as the tutor’s qualifications on paper, so we put real thought into every match. Once matched, your child will work with the same dedicated tutor throughout the school year, building the kind of consistent, trusting relationship that produces real academic progress.

Do you offer online tutoring as well as in-home sessions?

Yes. In addition to in-home tutoring across Westchester and Fairfield Counties, we offer fully online tutoring sessions for families who prefer the flexibility of remote learning. Our tutors are experienced in both formats and deliver the same quality of personalized, one-on-one instruction online as they do in person. Online sessions are particularly popular for test prep, college essay coaching, and students with busy schedules who need flexibility around after-school commitments.
