One-on-One Tutoring in Westchester County
It can be challenging for teachers in the classroom to give every student the attention they need to succeed. Fortunately, Prep Academy Tutors provides at-home one-on-one tutoring in Westchester County.
By bringing education into your home, our tutors can better explain course material and revisit challenging subject matter to fill in any gaps in your child’s knowledge.
Our educators work one-one-one with students to make a connection, better understand the student’s individual educational needs, and accommodate accordingly with a customized education plan that is unique to the student.
Instead of acting like a teacher at the front of the classroom, our tutors act more like a “smart friend” who can reiterate source material and explain subject matter in a way that is easy to understand.
Our tutors create a safe, low-pressure educational environment where students feel like they can learn and develop comprehension at their own pace.

Semi-Private Tutoring
Prep Academy Tutors provides semi-private tutoring in Westchester County so that students can benefit from the magic that happens when you put two heads together.
If your child and a friend are at a similar learning stage and are interested in utilizing tutoring, they can benefit from having the same instructor while also getting a more one-on-one approach to learning.

Group Tutoring Sessions
Prep Academy Tutors offers group tutoring in Westchester County for groups of 3-6 students. While group tutoring does not provide the same personalization as one-on-one tutoring, it makes up for this with the energy, camaraderie, and collaboration that comes with group learning.
In group tutoring, students can come together to work as a team, brainstorm, bounce ideas off one another, and provide each other with the support and encouragement to confidently set and reach academic goals.

Private Tutors in Westchester County for All Subjects
Because all students have different learning needs, capabilities, and interests, some subjects can pose as more of a challenge in the classroom than others. This is why Prep Academy Tutors hires certified educators with various specialties.

New York Curriculum-Based Education
Although Westchester County has various public districts with different curriculums, each local district develops a curriculum based on standards established by The New York State Education Department.
These curriculum standards are maintained by all of our tutors. By working with your child’s curriculum, we can help fill any gaps in their knowledge, cover material before it’s taught, and provide them with the tools they need to better understand and more confidently approach subject matter as it is taught.
Westchester County is a County in the state of New York that holds a total of 48 public school districts. Some of these are part of the Union Free School District, while others are part of the Central School District.
These districts have slightly differing curriculums but are held to the same standards, which is why we work with your child’s specific school curriculum. We revisit any challenging subject matter to explain it in a way that is easier for a student to understand so that they can keep up with their peers and take control of their educational journey.

Building on that passion, Margaret then pursued a second Master’s degree in Library and Information Services at St. John’s University. It’s no surprise to then know her first year as a teacher was spent solely teaching reading, writing, and grammar. Additionally, her expertise includes fifth grade level mathematics, science, and social studies. Margaret’s role as a librarian has helped broaden her skill set, giving her proficiency in instructing research using various technologies and print sources. Margaret also wouldn’t mind having a lively discussion about what books everyone is reading, at school and at home! She has always enjoyed working with students, getting to know each one and figuring out the best way to help them learn. She can’t wait to tutor and meet her new students!

“We noticed in grade 5 that our son was having difficulty in math and was overwhelmed taking tests. A friend’s daughter was having great success with Prep Academy Tutors and recommended we contact them to help support his learning. Now he is a different student. Prep Academy Tutors have helped our son get focused, stay motivated and develop strong study and test skills. They use the right combination of encouragement, accountability and challenge and as a result our son’s academic achievements and self-confidence have increased dramatically. We consider Prep Academy Tutors all part of our son’s success team and would highly recommend them.”
“I cannot say enough about Prep Academy Tutors. This is our third year with them and they continue to provide us with experienced, knowledgeable, reliable and personable tutors. Our 15 year old son was diagnosed with a Language Learning disability 3 years ago and since working with Prep Academy Tutors the trend line is up. His self-confidence, ability to organize, test writing fears and marks have all improved. Our son also has a very busy co-curricular calendar and Prep Academy Tutors has been amazing when it comes to flexibility and working together with us to find what works best for all. Prep Academy Tutors also works hard to find the right personality fit for each Student and Tutor. Lastly, having the tutors come to our home is wonderful!”
Prep Academy Tutors has been an outstanding resource for us this year as we all try to navigate this new normal. Their process, and their tutors, have both been top notch and allowed us to give our children the additional support that they need during this time.
